Review of My IEM University

When I was searching for the best college to get the admission, some people told me to try for Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) and after I got admitted to this college, I really understood that I selected the right college. I will always prefer this college because discipline is strictly obeyed in IEM and all the teachers are like parents. In 2019, admission was going on offline and it was held around the month of July. This year, due to covid pandemic, the admission process was held around the month of October and from 2nd November, online education started for the first year batch. According to me, the one and only bad aspect is that every semester, Rs. 65,000 is to be paid by each and every student to continue with their education which is quite high according to me. But in other aspects, IEM is overall the best institute and especially for ECE stream.

We know that in the present scenario of competitive marketing place, CSE and ECE both are very high demanding courses to get a good service but as I preferred the college at first and got ECE in IEM as my WBJEE rank, so I selected this course and all the faculty members in this department are very much friendly to the students and each of them is always trying to deliver their lectures patiently and being always happy to clear any doubt of any student regarding the lectures. Now, coming to the examination process, due to pandemic situation, the exam is taken in online mode and for each and every year, the exam is held in two semesters. For each semester exam preparation, two mid-semester exams are taken before each semester and in all these exams, full marks are 70. Lab and viva exams are also taken, which is now also held on online mode due to this pandemic situation and full marks are 100. Students should follow each and every class lectures of the faculty members to pass the examinations.

Our college offers internship opportunities sometimes but it can not be recommended because an internship is very much required to get an advantage at the time of placement. But our college is not helping so much in this regard. Students should try on their own to get a good internship.

From 3rd year, i.e. 5th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, HDFC, Wipro, Lupid, Vodafone, ICICI Bank, Reliance Money, Godrej, Axis Bank, HP and many more companies come to our college to recruit the students eligible for their company. Student can get more details regarding the number of offers given by the companies using the link, iem.edu.in. 5-6 LPA is the average package and 40 LPA is the highest package till now. Above 8.00 YGPA is a good percentage required for getting good placements from IEM.

For continuing the education in the Institute of Engineering and Management, each and every semester, students need to pay Rs. 65000, this is the fees structure of this university. Financial assistance is also given to the students whenever it is needed. Maximum job opportunity comes for the students from TCS. Recruiters also come to this college from HSBC, HDFC, Wipro, Cognizant, INFOSYS, Nestle, Cotak, Vodafone, HP, Lupid, Sasken, India Bulls, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Godrej, ICICI Prudential, Satyam, Reliance Money, ABN Amro, ORACLE, HCL and many more companies.

In every year, technical fests, cultural festivals, celebrations, sports competitions, conferences etc are going on. For example, at the end of every year, the SMART MAKER FESTIVAL is organised by our college which is a model making competition on various technical aspects. Cultural festivals like a celebration of Rabindra Jayanti, Teacher's day etc. are held in our college. Coming to sports, basketball tournament, football tournament, a tournament of chess and carrom, table-tennis tournament, Marathon all these are organised by our college. International conferences are also organised by our college where students can learn from foreign professors, present their innovations and publish their research paper in international journals. Libraries are open for 24*7 hours for every week and there are 9000+ books in our college library from where students can issue books as per their need. There are many student chapters also like for IEEE, Robotics etc, organised by the college students.
