An honest 1st year review

I also went to Techno India University to talk about this course but what made me choose Institute of Engineering and Management is that they disciplinary way and their high placement record. I didn't apply in any other clg so I didn't receive any rejections. Admission process is that we needed to come and talk in the admission cell.. Where we filled a form and eligibility was 75% marks in higher secondary exam... Admission test is also required.. for non- technical courses we need to give IEMCET and for technical courses we need have the rank card of atleast JEE MAINS, WBJEE or we need to give IEMJEE. I choose Institute of Engineering & Management Kolkata because it gives better placement opportunities than the difference private colleges in Kolkata even if eliminate 2 or 3 government colleges then it gives better placement opportunities then the esteemed government colleges of west bengal too. I got rejected from the Jadavpur University because of my rank in WBJEE. Eventually I'm getting admission opportunity in Jadavpur in last round which is MOP-UP ROUND but I'm getting printing Engineering that is not my interest. Admission process in my college is through JEE MAINS , WBJEE RANK or Management seats. Eligibility criteria is more than 60% marks in 12th standard. For any course if you have good rank in JEE MAINS OR WBJEE then you get easily selected. Most of the students prefer WBJEE rank for their admission including me. Didn't get admission in any other colleges in which I applied so finally took admission in this college. Also the college was in my hometown so opted for this college. Taking a drop of one year and preparing for JEE was not an option for me....Read More

This is a good platform to approach the outer world. We have learnt how to communicate with everyone. My public speaking fear has gone away. And it has a strict attendance rule. The campus life is quite great at IEM. There is a CCTV camera all around the campus. The rules and regulations of the college are a bit strict but it is good for all the students. There is a regular morning assembly. Teachers are extremely helpful and easily approachable for clearing doubts. Besides all this, it has a very good brand name. Ample opportunities are offered to the students to develop the right skills and knowledge....Read More
