Compared to the regional colleges in West Bengal, the coding culture at HITK is good. At Heritage, there is an ACM Student Chapter, where you can find people with common technical interests. That said, there isn't any proper group that is dedicated enough to host practice sessions, but, yes, you can meet professors for guidance. Also, the courses allow you to dive into hardcore coding.

HIT Kolkata is a ragging-free institute; it does not support ragging, and students can also complain about the same. As per the student reviews, seniors will sometimes call their juniors and ask them to sing or dance or for an introduction, but no other form of ragging occurs on the campus.

HITK follows a one job per student policy. HIT Kolkata has a stronger track record with top companies like Infosys, Wipro, and Cognizant, offering higher salary packages (around INR 4-6 LPA). Whereas, BPPIMT also offers placements, but the opportunities and salary packages are generally lower (around INR 3-5 LPA).
