Life at IIIT UNA

Likes

The infrastructure of IIIT UNA is good as compared to other IIIT formed at same year. IIIT UNA has permanent campus, hostels are good and well maintained, mess food are good as compared to other colleges.
Sports facilities-There are 7 badminton court, 2 basketball court, 1 big football ground, lawn tennis court. Sports is encourage here. Gym facilities is also provided. YALGAAR our sports fest is conducted to encourage sports.
The facilities and course curriculum is updated . All the facilities are well qualified in there respective fields. And teach very well

Dislikes

Fees is one of the big concern of almost all students of the college , as an institute of national importance they are charging too much fees, as compared with NIT , and other government colleges.
Lack of coding culture- It is based on my experience that I found the absence of coding culture in the college, as I have heard online, no hackerthons or competition are conducted to encourage coding.oding clubs are dead and only sports encouraged.
Lack of senior, junior interaction- Senior do not interact with juniors and do not guide. The girls : boys ration in our college is very bad is about 1:35. College has a strict 75% criteria which consumes very much time.

Various companies recruiting from the campus and highest package being offered

The campus placement of IIIT UNA is good. The highest package of 2023 in IIIT Una was 60 lpa(off campus) and 45 lpa (on campus) . The average pakage was 15 lpa , and around 90 % of the student got placed, during the placement drive. The average pakage of IT department was 16 lpa. A full semester is dedicated for internship and to earn work experience. Many companies like Google, Facebook, nvidia,Amazon etc appeared into placement drive.I am also targeting such FANG companies.

What are the internship opportunities in the campus?

Internship in IIIT una is quite sorted. A full semester is dedicated for internship and to gain work experience. Seniors usually refer juniors. These internships are paid internships.IIIT una has great connection with companies and company visiting nit Hamirpur also visit here Compulsory English classes are conducted to improve one's talkative skills

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

The curriculum of IIIT Una is updated as compared to the subjects taught in NITs and IIIT. There is full semester dedicated to internship and to gain work experience. We use to study dsa from second semester , which is crucial to crack FANG companies. Every classroom has projectors and ppt is also provided. The exams are conducted twice a semester and minor tests along with practical are also conducted.

Tution fees per semester- Rs.130000 Tution fees for first semester -Rs.135000 Total tution fees for 4 years-Rs.1085000 Hostel Fees per semester-Rs.42000 Total hostel fees-Rs.336000 Total fees-Rs.1421000 for 4 years No scholarship is provided by the side of college. Only government scholarship and private scholarship you can avail if you will apply. No fee wavers are provided All categories General, obc, sc ,St have same fee structure as mentioned above.

Various sports and clubs of the college

The campus of IIIT UNA is situated at about 10 km from main city , so it creates some problems, like buying stuffs, transportation etc. But in campus there are many things to do in free time. Like there are different type of sports, like basketball, football etc, table tennis is also provided and many indoor games. There are various clubs like- SARGAM -the music club. EPMOC-the social club AA ESH-the electronic club FORCE-coding club ZENITH-sports club Etc. These clubs conduct activities timely.

Faculty and learning experience in the campus

The facilities members are good and well qualified and they help students. Facilities like Dr. Madan Verma, Dr. Satendra etc are well qualified and teaches a concept very well .Course and curriculum is advanced and modern. College follows a strict 75% attendence criteria. There are 2 major exams in a semester and some minor tests.

Admission process and eligibility criteria of the college

I choosed this college, because on my jee rank 30900 ,I wanted to study computer science, so I opted for this college. IIIT Una has its own permanent campus, which is better than the IIIT established at same year. It provides hostel facilities. There are total 4 hostel in campus for every year. I applied for many other colleges in JOSAA but got this one. Admission process is quite simple you just need to get you JOSAA seat allotment letter along with the documents which are mentioned on the website to seek addmission.

Night Life

The nighlife at IIIT una is as usual than any other college. It is must to enter the in hostel before 10 p.m. and daily attendence at hostel is must.There is 1 canteen and 1 newly opened nes-cafe in our campus. There is requirment of ID card for exit from college. Himachal is full of exciting and famous places to hangout with friends,

I choose this college because os the two main reasons First It has its own campus . Every facility is provided there and everything is easily accessible. Second It is nearest to my home . Nice surroundings Environment is very good .

CAMPUS LIFE IS BETTER THAN OTHER IIIT WHICH I WAS GETTING IN JOSSA SUCH AS IIIT KOTA , BHAGALPUR , NAGPUR , ETC . PLACEMENTS ARE IMPROVING EVERY YEAR . I WAS NOT GETTING CSE IN NITS . ADMISSION IS DONE THROUGH JOSSA AND CSAB COUNCELLING . LAST GEN MALE RANK TO GET CSE CORE HERE WAS 42200 SOMETHING . THIS YEAR 75 SEATS OF IT IS CONVERTED TO CSE SO CUTOFF WENT LITTLE HIGH THAN PREV YEARS.

the coding clubs and fests are good and teacher very supportive
the college infrastructure is very good and hostel mess food was very good

Area of college is 15 km from una city .

I choose this college because it is under institute of national importance , I get this college in csab councelling 1st round . My rank was at par to get this college . I also get YMCA Faridabad cse(data science) but I do not go because of no hostel facilty.

Why to get IIIT UNA in 2025

Likes

the campus is fully ac and all classroom and labs has fully furnished ac's and heater works in winter
the college has every type of lab needed and all the essential things we need for our project devlopment and every lab has specific lab assistant that are very helpful
all teachers are very helpful and almost all are phd completed the colllege is very well

Dislikes

the college has very less gender ratio for girls as there are only 12 girls in mine year students that has almost 280 students

i choosed this collage over other collage just for the cs branch and on comapre to other iiit this collage had its own campus that was also a reson to choose it .admission process is very easy it happen through jossa .and every thing else will be done at college itself .

Institure facilites, infrastructure specially Hostels are very good as expectations and campus is very beautiful

Dislikes

In starting days, I was like this location is full of moutains and snow type of stuff. But in real this are, we can say Plains. Because its the staring city of Himachal Pradesh.

Admission:

As i saw, there are multiple colleges where my admission was possible. But i choose this college because of their well location, near by home, and an institute under national importance. As per records of placements of this college was grown exponentially, so this was also a big factor to take admission.

IIITU - Top growing IIIT

Likes

All the tourist places are nearby so you can travel the wonderful Himachal Pradesh.
If you want to live in peaceful environment IIITU will be a heaven.

Dislikes

Administration is not student supportive.
Poor connectivity lies outside main city una.
Facilities are not up to the mark like shopping malls.

Admission:

I was thinking to join TIET and LMIIT but the fee was high also there was no IIIT tag so i choose IIIT Una i was getting CSE in all of them. Admission Process - JEE Mains followed by JOSSA councelling and CSAB.

quality of infrastructure that exist is good as i said hostels are good , academic block and admin block are good with well equipped labs
only aspects i appreciated is like hostels , hostels are pretty good with fully wifis which are not available in most colleges , well sized rooms and buildings

Dislikes

as of campus life and social interactions they are very poor there is no such campus life because campus not that big and is really quiet no interesting activities or something like that happen

Both IIIT Vadodara and IIIT Una are good places to study for a B.Tech.
1. Campus: IIIT Vadodara is an older institute than IIIT Una.

2. Placements: In 2023, IIIT Una's average package for B.Tech was INR 15 LPA, and the maximum package was INR 60 LPA. Top employers include Amazon, American Express, Deloitte, Microsoft, and TCS. Whereas the highest package offered to BTech students during IIIT Vadodara placements in 2023 was INR 43.34 LPA (on-campus) and INR 1.02 crore per annum (off-campus).

3. Facilities: IIIT Una has two buildings for the library with over 80,000 books, 12 hostels for students, a sports complex, labs for chemistry, computer, electronics, and physics, a cafeteria, a hospital, an AC auditorium, and rooms for workshops, seminars, and conferences. To be eligible for admission to IIIT Una, you must have passed 12^th with 50% in PCM from a recognized board (45% for SC/ST category students). Then you need to appear for JEE Mains followed by Josaa counselling having a rank around 23k to 35k, to get admission to B.Tech course.

The institute provides you with twin sharing rooms till you are in your third year. After that, you will be provided with a single room. You are provided with a common bathroom, laundry, cleaning services, and 4 messes with different types of food.

Yes, IIIT Una is great for pursuing PhD course. It offers high placement packages after a PhD. The highest placement package stood at INR 47 lakhs a year and the average was INR 13 lakhs a year.
