What Students Say

Likes

Hostel is much more better than most of the iiit's hostel.
Environment is very good . Campus full of greenery.
Classes are equipped with air conditioner (AC)

Dislikes

Small campus . Not more than 100 acers. Or even less
Rooms are three seaters. Which is another thing I didn't like .
Food is not that much good . Can make good food.

Course Curriculum Overview

There are so may labs for the specific works . If you want to make your project, there are every thing youcan use . There is no restrictions to use any machines , computers, and much more things everything is easily accessible.

There is good opportunity for the interships in our college Indian institute of information technology. There are so many clubs, societies to boost your skills. Campus life is very good. Meraki - Technical fest of Indian institute of information technology. Mridang- the cultural annual /non - technical fest of Indian institute of information technology. Yalgar - the sports fest

Admission

I choose this college because os the two main reasons First It has its own campus . Every facility is provided there and everything is easily accessible. Second It is nearest to my home . Nice surroundings Environment is very good .

Faculty

Faculties are good. Students faculty ratio is quite less . Teachers teach relavant to the topics. The main thing for which faculties I like is there calm behaviour, Helping nature If there are any doubts regarding anything there are faculties to clear it .

Night Life

Gym is available inside the capmus transit house . Nearly 100m from the main campus Cafeteria is there available from 10 am to 11pm . There is a nescafe cafe inside the academic block for snacks like coffee chai sandwiches and much more.

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.
