Faculty:

The faculties were very supportive and also strict at the same time such as Mr. Vinod Sharms our HOD of fashion design department. Other outstanding faculties such as Late. Mr. Ashutosh Porus who create and provide highly creative environment for students to thrive and expand horizons. Their were guest faculties who visit to conduct module fro outside of india as well propelling oppotunities to outgrow perspectives across borders.

NIFT Delhi - A total walkthrough

We are approx 80 students in mdes and 5 faculties so the ratio is 1:16. All the faculties are approachable and guide us all the time. A faculty named Varsha Gupta head of research is the elder most faculty in our dept. She always encourage and give boost to the students. Apart from her Ms. Kavita, Ms. Surbhi, Mr. Siddhart also always give their guidance and support to students. There is no written exams. All the exams are jury based where we basically have to show the whole semester work in one day in front of a jury panel and get evaluated by them. There is also internal marks which were mainly in continuous evaluation format.

A Glimpse into NIFT New Delhi

Faculties of my department are pretty cool. They support the students but only if the student seems them been intrested. The course is divided into 8semesters where in 1st two semesters we study in foundation program where we have classmates from every department here we study basics. Them we get to come to our own departments. In the end of 4th semester we do a craft research and documentation in diffrent cities alloted by college itself. In the end of 6th semester we do internship of 2 months. In sem 7 we do craft based design project and in final semester we go for graduation project for 6 months. They do not conduct exams they conduct juries where we get a task and get to complete and present on the day of jury. Marking is done in assignment 1, 2 and final jury (30-30-40).

Facilities are very friendly and you can talk to them about any doubt freely

You get mid terms and end term assignments which can be divided into further small assignments and then there is a end term jury. Exams can be written, practical, or presentation depending on your department

A Journey Through NIFT

The teacher here are outstanding. Very supportive.

The relationship between a student and a teacher is beautiful. the exams are like every month there is an assignment of 30 marks and in the end of the sem there is a jury where people from outside come and see your work and rate it. Two assignments of 30 -30 marks nd then jury mark that's how exams happen not everyone fails because of the marks but some fail because of the attendance shortage. it is compulsory to have 75% attendance in each subject

my all over experience

Offers specialised course in leather design, which is unique and niche field. I appreciate the focused curriculum and expert faculty.

Faculties are good but some are not. They do Partiality. And the relationship between the student's and faculty is very good they guide us very well. My mentor he regularly call me for mentoring. And I am happy with my mentor. There are faculties like if a student goes to them for any queries or anything they didn't understand in the class they are like ask other students, also if student ask for any help they were like who is your mentor? Go and talk with them but if a student wants help from the faculty they should help them. And about the juries sometimes the juries are difficult. Jury members are strict. But there are very few students who failed.

Overview of NIFT

Faculty to student ratio is 1:5 and we all have assigned mentors so it becomes very easy to approach our faculty members and take important insights. They provide knowledge and guidence towards individual preferences and they provide support in all the projects and internships.
