Course Curriculum Overview
The course itself is so good providing specialisation in experience design and strategic design management. With actual real world need. The courses are less hands on and more research based which gives your hands on experience from bachelors a boost. Because the internal marks are based on continuous evaluation everyday is an exam. Faculties observe your class presence, efforts, ideology, thinking process, conceptualization etc. So its an everyday thing.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities come time to time. Which includes many companies like ondc, tvs, honda, tech mahindra, aditya birla, tata, reliance etc. They offered role of design strategist, experience designer, ux researcher etc. Students have worked with govt. And private sector both during their internship period which gives them real time experience about the market and industry.
Placement Experience
After semester 3 students get placed off campus. But college placement happens in between semester 4. These info are for masters. Almost 25-30 companies enlist themselves every year for placement. Average package is approx 7lac and students got placed in highest 22lacs package as per my knowledge. Almost every one get placed whether it's offcampus or on campus. I plan to pursue phd. after my post graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is different per semester and it keeps increasing year by year for year 2024-25 the total fee for 1st and 2nd sem is 326200 rupees. There is a scholarship program called sarthak it offers the scholarship according to the family income. Other than that scholarship for ST students are also there. There is a proper breakup of fees available on the website of NIFT for the academic year and they keep updating it.
Campus Life
There are many clubs and groups in college which includes. Band, Nukkad Natak, Dance, literature club, photography, sports, social, fashion etc. I'm a part of band as drummer. Campus is happening during festival and events. Campus hosts annual fest every year named spectrum. People who are secretary and president of clubs get advantage in placement which shows their leadership qualities. They clubs organize many events like photowalk, fashion show, jamming sessions, music nights, movie nights etc.
Admission
I had applied for CEED and didn't qualify. And in NIFT exam I secured the rank 30 and got nift delhi as its the best campus of all over nift. I took this campus. You need to complete any bachelor's background for this exam. They only accept nift entrance scores. Admission experience is pretty smooth as everything is online. And cutoffs varies every year. You need to secure a good rank if you belong to the general category to get into nift delhi.
Faculty
We are approx 80 students in mdes and 5 faculties so the ratio is 1:16. All the faculties are approachable and guide us all the time. A faculty named Varsha Gupta head of research is the elder most faculty in our dept. She always encourage and give boost to the students. Apart from her Ms. Kavita, Ms. Surbhi, Mr. Siddhart also always give their guidance and support to students. There is no written exams. All the exams are jury based where we basically have to show the whole semester work in one day in front of a jury panel and get evaluated by them. There is also internal marks which were mainly in continuous evaluation format.
Interview Experience
There are total 2round and 3 exams for mdes. In 1st round there is creative ability test where drawing, sketching and design thinking questions are there. And another is general ability test which includes maths, general knowledge, english, mental ability etc. And in 2nd round there is personal interview. In PI they ask about you and your career pathway and your goals and expectations from course etc. I saw some youtube videos and solved previous year question papers for this exam.
Night Life
The college is near to hauz khas village which is packed with restaurant, cafe, parks and all other things. The locality is safe. Hostel facility is only available for girls and the in time is 10pm. Apart from that there is many street food stalls in gautam nagar which is very close to college. People usually go to lapinos, blue tokai and all during the evening or you can find people eating samosa and jalebi near green park metro gate.
