Remarks
The college offers a great curriculum and multidisciplinary course.
Entrance Preview
NIFT had the course that I was looking for after architecture. I wanted to do something in the design field which they offered, and therefore I chose to go with this amazingly reputed college. The experience has been amazing since day one because of the multidisciplinary course that they offer.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is actually pretty interesting. It provides a multidisciplinary course curriculum with a lot of choices between a lot of subjects. We have the mandate majors, the interdisciplinary minors, the general electives, and floating majors which one can opt for if they wanted to.
Internships Opportunities
I’m not sure if the college provides internships. But we must do a 2 month internship but when the first and the second year of the courses. The stipend varies from none to whatever we can negotiate.
Placement Experience
The college provides good placements, so I e heard from our seniors from various types of fields of design like strategy, experience, media review and so on and so forth. People from various companies look for people from really reputed institutes, and since NIFT is one such institute, the opportunities are good.
College Events
Our collie he hosts a number of events. There are the general festivities like Diwali, India, Halloween etc, and there are more like gigs, performances, and outbound, which students attend to get their minds off of the projects and all the work.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure, I’m not sure if it’s feasible or not. The college provides scholarships and other facilities, if you need to be able to pay the fees required per year, and per semester. They also tell the students about scholarships provided outside the college, so that they can look for more options if needed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The college provides scholarships and other facilities, if you need to be able to pay the fees required per year, and per semester. They also tell the students about scholarships provided outside the college, so that they can look for more options of needed outside of the college.
Campus Life
There are the general festivities like Diwali, dandia, Halloween etc, and there are more like gigs, performances, and outbound, which students attend to get their minds off of the projects and all the work. The gender ratio is almost 50:50, and there are a lot of clubs and societies for extracurriculars.
Hostel Facilities
I do not stay in the hostel, so I wouldn’t know what the hostel two facilities are like. I am from the same state, and therefore, of course, do not need to stay at the hostel. This question, obviously should not have been star marked and compulsory as not everyone the college is a hosteller.
Alumni/Alumna
The master's programme is fairly new and started in the year 2009. So the number of alumni are less. But college organized for 2-3 alumni to talk to us and tell us their experiences.
Exam Structure
There are no theory exams for masters students. The only exams that happen are the ones with the projects that we have done. The practicals, that is, the projects that we’ve done throughout the semester are reviewed by a jury at the end of, well, every semester.
Admission
The admission process had various stages. The first was a 3 hour drawing test and a 2 hour theory/MCQ test. After the results, the people who had passed were called for a group discussion and a personal interview. And the the results came in and I got through with rank 6.
Faculty
The faculty is very effective and efficient. Of course, ni one spoon feeds you at the masters level, but they still help everyone. Every student has been allotted a mentor who they can go to wherever they are in doubt or if they need any guidance through the course.
