From student to fashion Manager.

Should emphasis more kn excel training for MFM course.

CAT,NIFT MFM entrance exam. I got AIR RANK 1 in nift entrance exam. Was from science background, wanted to do management and i really liked this fashion oriented course so, after getting the rank i took admission in NIFT Delhi

Course curriculum was made according to management colleges only.so that we can grab the similar education as any of the management institute gives apart from the marketing advertising finance accounts economics there were other different subjects like pattern making fashion management fashion merchandising service marketing fabric knowledge which gave us the knowledge regarding the fashion industry.

Yes there are 2 internship what we have to do. First is summer internship at the end of 1st year and there is graduation project which is the last semester of four months. I did my summer internship of two months in orient-craft export house, gurgaon and stipend was 5k. And my graduation project was with adidas group, gurgaon and the stipend was 15k.

Placements are decent enough tk start our careers with. Companies from various departments like marketing buying export houses retail companies comes for the placements. The placement percentage is around 85%. For MFM many known companies like adidas,tommy Hilfiger, reliance brands limited, amazon, pantaloons, myntra, shoppers stop, future group, lifestyle, orientcraft, triburg, raymonds, blackberry etc comes.

There are many cultural actives happens in nift out of which Spectrum which is an yearly cultural fest is the biggest and well known. It has all the activities like garment making. Film making. Poster making. Wall painting. Fashion show. There are stalls for students where they can display there art and sell. Food stalls used to be there. All Nift centres across india takes part in these events.

Its a government institution so few structure is really affordable. The total fees paid for MFM course for two years was around 3.5 lakhs which is affordable by any student. There are banks which provides who the loans lkme united bank, bank of India at the same time of admissions. Students from SC OBC categories get great help from the college. They can get full fees refund by shoeing the required documents.

People do go to paris for exchange programme for which there is an Internal exam which happens and who so ever qualifies it goes for the exchange programme of 1 semester personally haven't availed any.

Girls ratio is really high as compared to guys Nift has extremely talented designer people in designing courses which leads to a extravagant fashion shows. The dance team is also doing good a part from it there are volleyball cricket and football teams also. The students are well dressed with having great sense of fashion.

Hostel has just started in 2016.before that there was no hostel in nift delhi. However the area nearby has full of PGs for girls and boys and you you want to rent a flat there are many of them too. The rent is not high. In PGs there are laundry cleaning and food facilities are included.

Yes alumni network is really good and it was always a guidance to talk to the people who are working in the industry.

Exams happened semester wise. In one year there are two semesters. And the trimmings were 9pm to 5pm exams used to happen in the same college only written exams happens for 3 hours in the morning and presentation happens in the noon. many a times there used to be two exams in a day one written and one presentation.It used to be hectic but fun.there are many weaving labs, pattern making labs etc.

Its really good and supporting in every aspect. Teacher's are well known in there subjects and have a lot of industrial knowledge which helps students to know the theoretical and practical seniors both which ultimately helps the student to know in which field they want to explore in their career.
