A Glimpse into NIFT New Delhi

The curriculum provides a solid foundation, but could benefit from more emphasis on digital design and sustainability. Additionally, more courses on entrepreneurship and business skills would be valuable for those interested in starting their own ventures.

NIFT New Delhi offers a variety of internship opportunities across different design disciplines. Internships can be with companies like Ritu Kumar, Rohit Bal, Titan, Swarovski, and Raymond. Roles may include design assistant, pattern maker, product developer, and visual merchandiser. Internships often involve assisting in collection development, pattern making, garment construction, designing accessories, developing product lines, and creating visual merchandising displays. While these internships are usually unpaid, they provide valuable industry experience and networking opportunities.

NIFT New Delhi offers decent placement opportunities, especially in the fashion and design industry. Many renowned brands and companies visit the campus to recruit talented students. However, it's important to note that placements are not guaranteed and depend on individual performance and industry trends.After completing my B.Des. in Accessory Design, I plan to pursue a career in the fashion industry, specializing in sustainable accessory design. I aim to work for a renowned fashion house or start my own label, focusing on ethical and eco-friendly practices. I haven't get any placement I'm just in 3rd year I'm giving that I observed.

We generally pay semester wise fee and the fees is variable it increases and decreases every semester. Every odd semester we pay fees for medical, library and other essentials along with tution fee but in even semesters we pay only tution fee that is variable and increasing every semester. There is no other charges for any reservations. There are two scholarships, Sarthak and Udaan Sarthak is for Indian students and Udaan is for NRI students.

My overall experience is overwhelming I'm livin my college life already as I've two more years here. I did join literary club and worked as graphic designer. It was really amazing to do everything there it's so exciting.

I didn't apply for any other colleges. I just got to know about nift only. I just wanted to pursue my career in arts and fashion. Also if I would have known about NID I might applied for that only. Because the product designing I'm doing here is way better there than here. Also to get into NIFT Delhi's B.Des. (Accessory Design) program, you'll need to ace the entrance exam, which includes a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and a General Ability Test (GAT). Shortlisted candidates will then be called for a Situation Test. Your final selection will depend on your performance in these exams and a counseling session.

Faculties of my department are pretty cool. They support the students but only if the student seems them been intrested. The course is divided into 8semesters where in 1st two semesters we study in foundation program where we have classmates from every department here we study basics. Them we get to come to our own departments. In the end of 4th semester we do a craft research and documentation in diffrent cities alloted by college itself. In the end of 6th semester we do internship of 2 months. In sem 7 we do craft based design project and in final semester we go for graduation project for 6 months. They do not conduct exams they conduct juries where we get a task and get to complete and present on the day of jury. Marking is done in assignment 1, 2 and final jury (30-30-40).

The college gets closed by 9pm. Around the campus everything is greeny as there is so much park the big one is in front of college "Gulmohar Park". We go there and spend time in our free hours. Campus itself if very beautiful. And we'll designed.
