The adventure lend of NIFT kangra

Likes

It is situated in Himachal pradesh , kangra which is beautiful location
the classes were made with eco friendly bamboo material
surrounded by culturally rich atmoshphere

Dislikes

no in house facilities such as atm , gym etc
technically backward and lack of facilities
unnecessary long formal steps involved in leave approval

Admission:

The reason i chose this college is first, because of its location in himachal. second the goverment institute provide perks which were not there in private institutes. There is an entrance exam to be cracked to get admission in this college, conducted at different centres from all over India. I also gave exam for pearl academy and got passed in entrance but chose Nift over pearl because of its credibility being a government institute and less expensive.

NIFT Delhi - A total walkthrough

Likes

Faculties of mdes department are so good. With their experience and professional skills students get to learn a lot and they also provide guidance and mentoring.
The college offers exposure and many opportunities to collaborate with industry experts to give the learning curve a new experience.
The college also have labs with advanced equipments and machinery apart from that the library has ample of resources for research and learning purpose.

Dislikes

Campus is bit small and doesn't have much space for events and all.
No sports equipment or ground is there in campus because of the infrastructure constrains.
Campus also doesn't allow students to park their vehicles inside.

Admission:

I had applied for CEED and didn't qualify. And in NIFT exam I secured the rank 30 and got nift delhi as its the best campus of all over nift. I took this campus. You need to complete any bachelor's background for this exam. They only accept nift entrance scores. Admission experience is pretty smooth as everything is online. And cutoffs varies every year. You need to secure a good rank if you belong to the general category to get into nift delhi.

The real designing college

Likes

Infrastructure is old and good. Labs are well equipped
Faculty is very experienced and easy to approach.

Dislikes

The curriculum is quite stressful. It is systematic but quite hard

A Glimpse into NIFT New Delhi

Likes

The curriculum and the pattern. Like they do not conduct exams the do practical evaluation through juries.
They also focus on extra curricular activities.
I learned so many things about fashion here that is not possible in other colleges

Dislikes

The pressure they create to students during juries.
The attendance policy. They do not accept Medical if you get lower attendance than 75%. If you get sick and you missed more than 25% session you have to give jury again and you have to pay for it too.
The placement is not good for every department

Admission:

I didn't apply for any other colleges. I just got to know about nift only. I just wanted to pursue my career in arts and fashion. Also if I would have known about NID I might applied for that only. Because the product designing I'm doing here is way better there than here. Also to get into NIFT Delhi's B.Des. (Accessory Design) program, you'll need to ace the entrance exam, which includes a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and a General Ability Test (GAT). Shortlisted candidates will then be called for a Situation Test. Your final selection will depend on your performance in these exams and a counseling session.

Life in NIFT

Likes

The architecture, environment is very impressive
Takes you to field trips which are very nice for the course
Facilities are very friendly and you can talk to them about any doubt freely

Dislikes

Fee is a bit expensive for a middle class person
After few you also need to buy stationery which also costs a hefty anount
Sometimes gets very competitive in the course itself

Admission:

Nift is a government College and the fee for it is the least compared to the other fashion colleges. I didn't not apply to even a single other college since I thought I'll just give it a try and fortunately I got in in the first go itself. But I did apply for the uceed exam , my score was 50 marks less and I couldn't make it for that exam . The uceed exam was way tricky than the nift entrance. Nift has a simple admiss Process, you apply for the exam. You give the CAT and GAT exams which are scheduled on the same day itself of 2hrs and 3hrs respectively. Cat is the drawing exam and the gat is for the science maths gk social science etc knowledge test. After you pass this exam then you get selected for the situation test which is a studio based test where you get the materials and 3hrs and you have to then make something with the give material and the provide topics. Then you get a rank Accor to which you sit for the counselling and get the admission in one of the 19 campus in india

A Journey Through NIFT

Likes

The college environment is very creative and full talent students this motivates a person to better in life.
The teacher here are outstanding. Very supportive.
Nift uses outstanding machine in the college each machine cost than a lakh so that students get best education and become best designers

There is a lot of pressure of assignments

Ur life in NIFT

Likes

The things I liked as a ad department students there are proper machines for us to work in the lab ..we do have proper working ac in the class and over all ratio of girls and boys is 70:30
We have our canteen where everything is available for eating at a good price
They are providing a good resourceful library for us with lot of seating areas

Dislikes

They take extra fees for re jury and don't even bother about our idms
Nift is a profit making institute...they earn a lot of money from us
They don't provide us expensive stationery..they should because the fees is also to high do they should atleast provide us the expensive stationery

Admission:

I choose nift as I know they teach us product designing and I was very passionate about product designing so I choose this college as it is a top most college in the world of fashion in india ...nift delhi has its own value in the whole market of colleges who are providing b.des course ...and for coming into nift yes u need to give the exam ..most probably the forms will be out in October or November and the exam pattern is little hard u will have 3 exams GAT ,CAT and situation test ..GAT and CAT will be held on one day and if u pass in both of them then ur eligible to sit for situation test then according to ur AIR ( all over India rank) and according to ur category u will be allocated to different campus and course as per ur preferences

my all over experience

Offers specialised course in leather design, which is unique and niche field. I appreciate the focused curriculum and expert faculty.
It has modern infrastructure, including well-equipped labs, workshops and studios.
This college has strong connections with leather industry, providing opportunities for internships, collaborations and placements.

Dislikes

Raibareli is a small town. No needed facilities are available.
College is specialised institute with focus curriculum. I found campus life relatively quiet or limited compared to other colleges.
Sometimes I feel I feel pressure to perform well and meet the standards.

Admission:

I have applied in many colleges of arts or designing I gave many entrance exams but my focus was on nift because nift is one of the very good college for design and fashion. I choose nift because it was my dream. Yes I didn't get the admission in any other college and the real reason behind that is I didn't prepare myself for that. And for nift I did preparation by my self. Admission process of my college, there will be two exams GAT which is general ability test and CAT which means creative ability test if we qualified we have to give the next exam which is situation test in that test they will give us situations and we make 3d model of that situation. And after qualifying exam we will get admission. For admission we have to submit various forms along with medical fitness.

Nift fashion show I like most because of there is most of new fashion cloths
Nift spectrum , there is multiple type of design shown in this event
Nift jury, it's like a exam but there you learn new things from examiner

Nift washroom it is so dirty washroom because of management
Nift lift , it's not work properly I think because one time I got stuck in lift
Nift parking there is no parking for diploma students

First give cat exam Cat exam is like your creativity there was a sketching and good communication skill was required Second give gat exam Gat exam is like your past experience of school and college its totally general knowledge based test and there is also negative marking

Overview of NIFT

Likes

One of the best things about college life is that you get a new experience every day. In my college life, along with studying, I and my friends enjoyed a lot of other things. We traveled to lots of places, had new experiences, and learned new things
Most of the students go to another city, state or country for their College studies. This provides them with a lot of freedom and everyone likes freedom. And so do us.
I've found amazing people that I can truly call friends and can see them in my life for a very long time. I got to build with other people emotionally, mentally and physically… Learning more about who they are.

Dislikes

It was away from main city so we needed to travel alot after first year as they only allow us to stay in hostels for 1 year
Making new friends and fitting in can be hectic for somepeople especially introverted people. So more mandatory extra curricular activities are needed for ice btreaking.
College placement were not including vast industries and as they happen only in main campuses, it becomes a headache to travel to other places for placement

Admission:

Course is 100% eligible for people who are interested in fashion and have technical background. You can find application form and other details in nift official website. Reservation benefits are definitely available. It provides students opportunity to be in a good college based on reserved seats of their cast. Domicile seats are also available. Detailed information is mentioned in nift official site. Exams happen once a year and it is different for tech and design Student. Bftech and bdesign are 2 options available. For technical students, If you are good in current affairs, English and maths, it won't be that difficult. For design students, there's one additional exam called situation test which tests designing and thinking skills of students. Difficulty level is not high if you are creative. Areas of improvement: I would want that there should be lesser reserved seats so that general students who scored good marks can also get the college of their dreams.
