- Quality of food in mess is very nice and they provide lot of variety

- Not at all any thing that I don't like , everything here is wonderful
Placement Experience:
In IIT kanpur placement are really good and the average package is 2800000/- pa. During the 8 semester students gets to sit in the placement drive and there are lots of which come for campus placement like google, Amazon, hfts' and many mncs.
About 80% students always get placed in placement

- More and more opportunities for learning new in academics and also in sports.By that we can be good in both academics and sports
- Only less restrictions and more security for girls and boys . Full freedom for roaming in the college with no time restriction.Forming good bonding with seniors and juniors.wonderfull faculties.
Dislikes
- The academics is very tough in this IIT and very tough competition and tough grading in academics.and very strict paper correction.
- Making the CPI CRITERIA FOR everything like we have to minimum CPI to participate in that particular thing .
- Only above those 2 reasons that I don't like , remaining everything is good in my college
Placement Experience:
The placements of our college is very impressive.From 3rd year onwards students are eligible campus placement.The Students having CPI 7 ARE eligible for campus placements , they wil not see only academics,they will also see in which they have participated,what are they capable in college programs in achieving, does he have leadership qualities or not , these many things they observe while doing campus placements . There are many companies visited to our campus, i will mention some of them like Google, Amazon, Zomato, Microsoft, TCS , ETC... In each branch nearly 150 to 200 offers are made .In my college the last year highest package is 8.9 crores and the average pakage is above 35 lakhs .The percentage of students getting campus placements is 89percentage .And my plan is getting the job in campus placements

- I don't like reservation for such esteem college.
- I don't like female reservation in the college.
Placement Experience:
I think there is no competition of placements of IIT in India. IITs have best placements records. On other institute is near IITs. It has about 95% placement stats which is mind-blowing. All top companies visit IITs.

- Hectic schedule, there are so many classes on some days .
- PE classes , there are physical education classes early in the morning and are very tiring
- No evening snacks, there is provision of evening snacks in other IITs but there is no such provision here at IITK
Course Curriculum Overview:
New to the system, everything here seemed quite unfamiliar. Moreover the faculties here are more research oriented but they do solve doubts and guide when needed. They are so much cooperative and care a lot. Some even call us to their quarters and talk with us , pamper us. They are caring .

- No way to check our attnedence to make sure our attendence is above minimum required
- 8 am classes in cold winters …a serious issue
- Exceptional power to profs and thier strict grading
Placement Experience:
From 7th semester students can avail placements anyhow they can do summer interns every summer .
This is year in winter placements season around 989 placements have been offered .
Highest package of all time was 4 cr offered from Jain street

my college provides placements. so there are placements in december where google, microsoft, infosys etc many companies provide placements and internship opportunities. Many entrepreneurship is also encouraged.

- The competition everywhere is very high everywhere clubs, studies, sports ,need to work hard here also.
- The grading is bad in some courses all the grades are in hand of the instructor .
- Had to study engineering drawing and biology even tho my branch is based on maths. But still its ok for first year.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose the course as i loved mathematics. And i was eligible to take this course on the basis of jee rank. The faculty student ratio is about 11.This is a top tier institute in India and hence the faculty are highly qualified with post doctorate
degrees in thier respective domain from well known universities.They teach in asuch a way that ignites my curiosity in that course.We are taught some courses out of our discipline so we can explore more things.Mid sem exams are held after 2 months of starting of semester followed by end sems after other two months.quizes are held on certain dates keeping into consideration the convenience of students as well as the faculties.

- The culture at IIT Kanpur is the best. The seniors and faculties are both very helping. They help you and teach you stuffs without making you feel dumb
- Availability of great sport opportunities for sport enthusiasts with almost every sport available.
- Infrastructure and the opportunities IITK provides are incredible. You can explore almost all the hot domains in todays world
Dislikes
- Academic pressure is much more here at IITK as compared to other IITs.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I choose this course as it was the best fit as per my choice filling in Josaa counseling and my rank. Although i don't regret my fate. The faculty to student ratio in our Department is around 1:10.
The teachers here at IITK are highly qualified and passionate individuals with sheer interests and immense knowledge in their respective fields. Teachers in my Department too hold the same attributes. Their way of teaching is marvellous. They make you fall in love with the subject and light up the curiosity within you to divedeep into the field and explore more. Generally we have Mid-semester examinations and End-semester examinations every semester and some quizzes too. Mid-sems starts after 1.5 month of the semester beginning and End-sems are after the other 1.5 month portion. The faculties conduct quizzes on the basis of the convenience of both students and theselves. The core subjects are moderate, neither too difficult nor too easy. But still you need hardwork to get through the exams.

You are elgible for internships from 3rd year. Placements are offered for 4th year , from 7th,8th semesters. I am a 1st year UG, as of now to provide more details , though it can be availed on college site.
But I can guarantee that this college has best placement rates among all

My course, BS physics, is a research oriented course. All the faculty members are highly qualified and really helpful. All the courses have a midterm and an endterm exam. These are also accompanied by quizzes.

What is your review of the earth sciences department at IIT Kanpur?

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
