Course Curriculum Overview

IIT kanpur's academics is really very tough . One has study properly for excelling in studies here in IIT K. Although tough curriculum they provide a lot of academic flexibility which is very fruitful. And also that there is a body ICS which helps students in there academics affairs

Internships Opportunities

Students get internship opportunities after 2nd and 3rd year of their college and the internship opportunities are very well students gets an average stipend about 70-80K here in IIT Kanpur. Also there multiple projects opportunities for students under there professors which is also very good.

Placement Experience

In IIT kanpur placement are really good and the average package is 2800000/- pa. During the 8 semester students gets to sit in the placement drive and there are lots of which come for campus placement like google, Amazon, hfts' and many mncs. About 80% students always get placed in placement

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition is fixed for a semester which is 100000/- and we have to pay hostel charges we comes around 18000/- per semester and we have to pay for mess per month which approx comes around 3-4K. Also there are lots of scholarship like Mcm, inspire, fbm and also tuition fees reduction on the basis of parental income like if parents income is less than 600000/- then tuition fees gets reduced to 33000/- per semester

Campus Life

Overall experience in IIT kanpur is magnificent there are lots of extra-curricular activities which students can indulge themselves in. There are three types of councils SNT, MNC, GNS these are for science and technology, media and culture, games and sports respectively. There are wide range of clubs teams and societies in the campus. Talking about the IIT k fests there are three fests Antaragani(October) ,Udghosh ( September) and techkriti (March ) which are cultural l, sports and technical and entrepreneurial fests in the campus

Hostel Facilities

Hostel here in iitk are very nice they have very good rooms and well ventilated. We get the basic furniture from the hostel like bed, tables, chairs etc. mess food quality is also very good they take care of the hygiene and cleanliness.

Hostel Fee: INR 40000 per year

Admission

IIT kanpur takes admission on the basis of jee advanced ranks. Generally IIT kanpur takes students upto 10000 rank in jee advanced crl for the admission process. Admission process is done through the josaa which is the seat allotment portal for iits and nits. A student can apply for jee advanced 2 times

Faculty

Faculty here in IIT kanpur is very trained and obviously there post doctoral professors with lots of year of experience. Apart from profs we also have tutors for the tutorial session once week where there is a small class 30-40 students only where you can easily solve doubts

IITK From Sparsh's Perspective

Placement Experience:

So the placements of IITK is so good. As it is one of the top colleges of engineering in india, the placement here are quite good. The Average pakages according to last year stats is somewhere around 22 lakhs. And then the we have branch-wise average Pakages too. The students becomes elgible for interhsip in his/her 5th semester and for the placement in his/her 7th semester. The American Express & Jp Morgon visited IITK and has made 11 and 6 offers respectively. The percentage of students getting placed are high , usually higher than 85 percent. I planned on preapring for UPSC after the my degree.

From 7 th semester students become eligible for campus placement. Many companies visited like nvidia, oracle, optiver, graviton, amazon ,flipkart,Meesho, zomato etc Highest package I know is approximately 1.5 cr internationally. Almost 90 percent are placed.

Life At IITK

Placement Experience:

After the end of 6 th semester, students need to submit the resume for the placements. At this time my senior placements are going on and they are much better. Like on first day half of the batch got placed. All the it sector company are there you can apply for. Highest package was around 2 cr and average was 25 lakhs. 70 to 80 percent of the students get placed, rest of the students either go for the masters or PhD or some other goal. I am pretty sure after my degree completion i would get an average package but I just wanted to be a civil servant.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements starting from 7th semester of their UG program. IIT Kanpur attracts top tier companies accross multiple sectors including tech, finance, consulting, core and research roles. Major companies visit IIT Kanpur like Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, Intel, McKinsey, BCG, ONGC, ExxonMobil, Schlumberger, Reliance Industries,JP Morgan, Flipkart and many more. The highest package came from international offers with salaries ranging upto 1-.5-2 crore per annum for roles in tech, finance and consuting. The average package across all sectors hovers around 15-20 lakhs per annum. The placement rate at IIT Kanpur is typically very high with aroung 85-95% of students securing jobs through campus placements, depending on the department and year. For highly sought after branches like CSE and EE the placement rate approaches 100%. Placement Experience:

The placement statistics of IITK is great. Every year many 1cr+ packages as well as international packages are offered by top companies to students. The placement percentage is also increasing every year. The students become eligible to apply for companies after 3rd year ie. after 6th semester. The highest package offered was 4cr per annum while the average package was 22lacs per annum. My plan after getting the degree is to get a good paying job and start working.

The placements were good. The highest package was 55lpa and avg package was 19lpa. All top tach companies visit here like Google, GS, MS, Amazon visit here. Around 95% of students were placed. I am joining JioSaavn.

I choose this college becouse of its flexible acdemic structure and its great Alum connections. Also this is the best college i am getting according to my rank and my interest in mathematics. I have Applied for IIT delhi in electronics. IIT Delhi is also a great college but when it comes to academic focus IIT delhi lacks there. Also there faculty administratation is so strict. if a student wants to start something or he/she has a new iniative for the college , he/she will face hard time. So I couldn't make it to IIT Roper CSE branch because my jee adance rank is not that great for the Roper' Computer science. So the Admission process here at IITK is not difficult. You just the originaly document which you have submitted in your josa counselling portal and you need to verify it once here usually a couple opf hours work. The cut-off for IITK varies-from branch to branch. For example the CSE of IITk open from Jee advanced general rank of 115 to 250....Read More

Life @ IITK

I chose IIT Kanpur over othe rcooleges because of its academic reputation, research opportunities and strong alumini network. I was also able to get seats in other IITs but I preferred IIT Kanpur due to its legacy . I didn't face rejections, but did not opt for some colleges even after qualifying due to lower research output, weaker placement stats. Admission process for B.Tech at IITK is through JEE Advanced exam, after qualifying JEE Mains. You also neend to satisfy cutoff for branches. Admissions are handled by JoSAA Counselling....Read More
