Placements are very good but as recession is hurting every job there is the placements have fallen down a bit.
The campus life is quite bad compared to other indian institute of technology because the infrastructure is quite old and bad here and appears dull tbh.
Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad.

IIT Varanasi, one of best colleges in india

Likes

College life was pretty amazing. Food corners were pretty decent.
College education is amazing. People can opt to get any electives.
Infrastructure and hostel facilities are amazing

Placement Experience:

Exceptional placements. It's a bit down right now but it will get better eventually. Average repackage right now is around 18lpa. Around 500+ colleges visited this year including top firms like Google and Amazon.

IIT BHU: Behind doors

Likes

campus, beautiful campus with greenry and amazing architecture
amazing clubs and society culture. All branches have their society and many fests are held every year.
student controlled parliament that we vote for and help us raise our voices

Dislikes

old professors who can't keep up with latest trends, and emphasise on traditional methods of teaching
adiministration is controlled by these profs and they do not understand the sentiment of students at all
BHU which is not part of IIT campus interferes a lot in our businesses

Placement Experience:

There placement and internship opportunity on campus. BTech students are eligible for internship in 5th semester, 3rd year and for placement in 8th semester, 4th year. IDD students are eligible for internship for internship in 7th semester, 4th year and for placement in 10th semester,5th year. Our branch has recieved the highest pachage of over 1.2 crore per annum and the average is high too. Our branch specifically has better placement than others. This branch is suitable for pursuing research further too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'm in engineering physics course kind of a hard course and a semi circuital course so helpful in placements and currently a very demanding course for quantum computing and particle physics and also nice if you are interested in astronomy and cosmology

Clubs amd society which making big impact in student life.
Better coding culture from that you will able to crack it job irrespective of your branch
Good food quality and cleaning of mess and hostels

Old syllabus teached by professor in which neither student rake intrest nor professor
Open campus that why everyone can enter in campus at any time
Less space in library that why student are not get seat when they came late

Mostly companies cames here for b. Tech. Student in 7th semester and for idd student in 9th semester. Most of the student get placed in campus placement and some of them go for higher studies and those who are not places they will applied for offcampus placement.

Dreamful IIT

Academics in our college is very good and well managed by teaching staff.
Campus culture is also impressive and with the help of clubs, it becomes more impressive.
Placements in our college is also great and more then 85% students get placed.

Dislikes

Academics are quietly tough and not feasible for everyone.
Our colleges is a open campus which allow everyone to enter in it which is not good for students.
Due to open campus, many outsiders comes inside which bikes and cars which increases chances of road accidents.

Placement Experience:

Whenever you are talking about placements in the IIT colleges, you know its gonna be high. Like it, my college has same high placement of average 25LPA and highest of 120LPA. From the ending of 2nd last semester (7th semester), companies start coming and placement starts. Companies like google, microsoft, oracle,apple,etc come in our in campus placement and place the students the students having CGPA 6. Me also doing same to maintain more then 6 CGPA and get place in any of these companies.

From campus to career

Likes

Environment is reaaly good and in campus you find many peaceful areas.
Coding culture is very good in our campus.
Sports facility are good we have our own grounds for various sport and gyms.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is old though new hostel construction is started.

Placement Experience:

After 7 semester stident becomes eligible for campus placements. Many company visits our campus various quant,sde and core branch companies visits our campus. And the highest package offered this year was 1.67 crore and avg.package of cse is around 33lakh. In cse almost 99% students got placed. My plan is to get a good job after the degree.

i liked the college and i like its vibes and i loved banaras a lot.
hostel life is also good until and unless you know how to accomodate and adjust.
faculty is very helping atleast of my branch and placements are good. we have a good alumni network.

Dislikes

infrastructure is also boring and not high class. the thing iit bhu does not have its own gate and we have to live under bhu.
classes are not that good. in summers you have to go through extreme torture as they are not air conditioned.

Placement Experience:

placements in the college are good as obviously it is an IIT. but you have do your work properly as tag of iit will work but not that much as everyone wants the placement. everyone here is in a big big race and if you think that only tag can provide you a good placement then you are wrong. you have to earn it and do the hard and smart work both.

Placement is very nice with 24 lpa average and almost every students getting placed.
There's proper greenery in campus area. Well planted trees and sampling are there with three grounds present.
There's plenty of events and fests conducted. Ganesh chaturthi, Saraswati pooja, Durga Pooja, makar sankranti are also held here

Dislikes

Campus is open campus, which means it is open to all the public which makes it very populated area and unsafe for students at all the time
Since it is more than 100 years old, buildings are old and rusty.

Placement Experience:

For B.Tech after 2nd year , students can sit for internships and after 3rd they go for their placements . For IDD students , they sit for the same after 1years , i.e after 3rd year for intern and 4th year for placement. Companies like Google , Microsoft , Amazon , Flipkart , Oracle , JP Morgan , TATA , Intel , Walmart, Goldman Sachs visits the college. Almost 90% of the students are placed in their placement season . Highest package for 2023 was 1.4 cr with average 24 lpa stipend . My plan after degree is getting a decent job and paying back and helping my parents .

A best college for devotees of lord shiva

I like the temple we have near the college and cold coffee there
I like the atmosphere here and the friend I found here
I like the ghats and ganga river which is in Varanasi

Dislikes

I didnt like mess food sometimes because It doesn't have taste
I didn't like these old building we see everywhere
I didn't like single painting style that I see everywhere

Placement Experience:

At 5th semester we start searching for internship and at 7 th semester we start searching for placements for a 4 year btech course student and the average package is 30 lakhs per annum and this is very good package

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

What are the views of IIT-BHU students about Kashi Utkarsh?

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.

Pharmaceutical Society and Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, IIT (BHU) organize the Nation's largest pharmaceutical fest-SPIRIT.

SPIRIT is an annual fest of pharmaceutical engineering & Tech. branch of IIT(BHU). It is a national level event where pass out students can also participate. Pharma and medical enthusiasts from the country come together in this two-day fest to encapture new ideas and innovations to bring out the best of the participants. There are many competitions where you can compete to share and gain knowledge and ideas. Workshops and seminars are also organized. IIT(BHU) is the only IIT having a pharma branch, that's why it is the best college of pharma. The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU) was established in 1932.
