IIT BHU Scholarship 2026: Amount, Eligibility, Selection Criteria

IIT(BHU) offers a variety of scholarships and fee structures based on family income and category. The general tuition fee is approximately INR 1,06,000 per semester for students whose family income exceeds INR 5 lakh. For families earning between INR 1 lakh and INR 5 lakh, a 2/3 fee remission is available, reducing tuition to INR 40,000 per semester. I am currently paying 2.4 lakh per year . It includes academic , hostel fee and also some other fee like examination fee , festival and many other small fee. Mess fee usually occurs around 16.5k per semester. Since i am above 5 lakh income slab so i have to pay full fee otherwise there are many fee waiver schemes . For students less than 5 lakh and more than 1 lakh they have to pay only 1/3rd of the fee and peeps less than 1 lakh income they dont have to pay academic fee but have to pay mess and some small fee. SC/St students also have same waiver schemes as of <1lakh doesnt matter the income of their household . There are many scholarship schemes like NSP , IIT BHU foundation and a lot more .

Honest opinion

The few structure is different according to different semesters . For odd and even semesters it is roughly around 1.5 lakhs ( including mess fees and tution fees ) . Scholarships are available only for some students .

The per semester fee was 50950, but I received the MCM scholarship, which has two criteria: first, you must be in the top 25% percentile in your branch of JEE rank-wise, and second, your father's annual income should be less than 6 lakhs. The mess fee was 12000, covering three meals a day, and the hostel was free.

The fees each semester is 121600 including everything. There are many state and orivate scholarships available for students like Reliance Scholarship, MMVY. The mess fees has been increaed for 15000 to 16500. Fees (category-wise): Gen(income >2lpa)-121600 Gen(income 1-5lpa)- 54933 Gen(income <1lpa)- 21600 ST/ST/All PWD- 21300

My course fees is 100000 for sc/st it is 15-20k just mess fees scholarship like nsp ,reliance and all are available caution money is 5000 .500 is admission fees 1000 is placement fees and convocation fees .For general category it is nearly around 2lakh per month and yes it is increasing day by day

The complete IIT BHU experiences

At the IIT BHU in Varansi the total academic cost for a four year b.tech degree is approx. 8.7 lakhs for student in genral category. This fee cover tution, hostel accommodation, and other instituitional charges, but students need to pay for their food separately which usually around 17000 each sem. student from SC,ST or PwD categories as well as from genral OBC categories whose family income <100000 don't have to pay any tution fee. Student with a family income betw 1 to 5 lakhs receive a 2/3 discount on their tution fee . IIT BHu provide additional support through scholarship. the main is MCM merit cum means scholarship which help students who perform wll academically and come from EWS background. Students Can also apply for Government and NSP Scholarship

I am an obc candidate and my father income is less than 5 lakhs so for every semester I have paid 39865 for college and approx 15000 for mess per semester . Fees is not increasing every year . Our college also provide scholarship like up scholarship and many other for sc , st candidates.My friend is from general background his tution fees for every semester is 1 lakhs and his mess fees is 15k like me. Sc ,st candidates have to pay 6k as tution fees for every semester and 15 k as mess fees.

For B.Tech students, The semester wise academic fees is around 1,06,350/- and that of hostel is 15000/- for the student whose annual income is above 5lacs . For income > 1,00,000/- and <5,00,000/- academic fees is 54,033/- and for less than 1lacs annual income it is 20,700/-. Also there are some extra benefits for sc/st/ pd candidates.

The year wise fees for general category is 1,05,950 which is the tuition fee for one semester. So yearly tuition fees is 2,00,000. Hostel fees is 15,000 per semester. The yearly cost is 2,30,000 The tuition fee breakdown is as follows: Admission fee 200 Caution fee 9000 which is refundable And the remaining tuition fee is basically student welfare , identity card etc. For Sc st and pwd , studentky are completely exempt from tuition fees. And for families with incomes below 1 lakh anually the tuition fee is waived Even those earning between 1 lakh and 5 lakh 2/3rd of the tuition fee is waived. Now abput scholarship Merit cum means scholarships covsrs tuition fee for the top 25% of the students of merit for families whose anual income is below 6,00,000 And the is kotak kanya for girls etc.
