The college faculty is really very amazing. they are really passionate about their domain subjects.

Dislikes

Placements are very good but as recession is hurting every job there is the placements have fallen down a bit.
The campus life is quite bad compared to other indian institute of technology because the infrastructure is quite old and bad here and appears dull tbh.
Mess food is also stupid bad, its affordable, at only 15k per semester, but the quality is really bad.

IIT BHU review

I like the peer group around which is very intelligent, smart and hardworking. They are serious about their life and also enjoy it. They form the clubs and societies to develop their personalities. The proffs are very outstanding in their fields.
I like the wide aspect of opportunities present whether it is in sports, entrepreneurship or cultural activities.
The alumni network is very great as they help in arranging talk sessions with great personalities and also provide internships and scholarship to the students

Dislikes

The infrastructure here is not well developed as no arrangement of ACs in the classes and also the academic buildins are not well maintained
The college is an open campus so it is flooded with auto rickshaws, bikes and cars all day.
There is no good hostels in 3 rd and 4 th year. Though they have built new hostels for 1st and 2 nd year

Placement Experience:

From the 7 th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Average package is 22 lpa of our college. Total 1128 placement offers and 424 PPOs by end of 2024.top recruiters were google, Microsoft, goldman sachs, amazon, adobe, oracle, uber, TCS, L&T, Siemens , zomato, paytm, ola. Highest package was 2.2 crore per annum which was offered for the role of SDE. 85-90 percent of students secure placements while it varies with branches. If no campus placement then students apply for off campus placements or some pursue masters in other college or other go for exams like UPSC. my plan is to get a job during campus placement with a decent package

A Good and Fruitful choice.

It has a wide and open campus.You are not bound to any boundary and can go anywhere
The old architecture of IIT BHU is a matter of pride for nation
Good level of Professors and facilities are provided by department

Dislikes

IIT BHU has a open campus as it is in collaboration with BHU.
The Infrastructure and Building are quite old as it is a 100, year old institute.

At the end of 2nd year i.e. 4th sem you ar le eligible for campus placement and can apply for internship on your own in 2nd year itself. Over 350+ companies came this year including Google, Microsoft, Meta, and many more. Highest package:- 2.2Cr Average Package:- 23LPA Out of 1500 students sat in placement,over 1200 got placed in 1st phase.

College culture at IIT BHU Varanasi

Likes

The college culture is amazing with the senior's being very helpful and supportive to the juniors.
The college has numerous fests and events, making it a happening place.
The sports facilities are up to the mark, with infrastructure available for around 18 sports. There is a well maintained student activity centre and 3 grounds for outdoor games.

Dislikes

The hostel and mess facility could be better.
Classrooms are not yet air conditioned, though it is said to be done in the coming months.

Placement Experience:

IIT BHU has got one of the best placements across all iits. The students become eligible for internships from the 5th semester and for placements from the 7th semester. The highest package was 1.68 cr and lowest being 10 lpa. Companies like Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Sprinklr, Google, JPMC, Salesforce, Nvidia, Uber, Oracle are some ofthe companies that gave offers. On average, 70 percent of the students get placed. After completing my degree I wish to pursue a job and earn for myself.

I loved the environment of the my college. It connects us to the nature. So many trees. And pollution free campus.
This is a ragging free campus. Our seniors are always there to guide us. So many tests. This college provides everything we need.
Our college is known for its infrastructure. Great job offers. Perfect college for every student

Dislikes

Though it has great infrastructure, but many buildings are really old.
Our mess food taste need to be improved.

Well the course I chose ,which is civil engineering is kinda tough. But with the help of professors you can add them. Every theory subject has its practical class , like labs. 2 hours of time is given in mid term and 3 hours of time is given in endterm. Well I think the provided time is quite enough for the exam toughness .

Campus environment as it is the most spiritual place .
Inclusivity as students come from all over India.
Activities, fests pretty good extra events

Weather, there are extreme weather conditions here
It could be better with a better maintenance
Hostel restrictions and it's a open campus so a bit issue

Course curriculum is fine . But it could be more relevant. We need to have proper core subjects those are related to industry trends . And also few subjects in non core sector that are helpful. Overall its ok and can be improved

Best library with a lot of digital materials, journal etc. It also have the availability of reservation books for students
Best placements in all courses, companies like google, Microsoft, tata, zomato, etc offer huge packages
Green spaces and nature help us to be calm, motivated at times of exams and placements

Dislikes

Infrastructure like old hostels sometimes get allotted by chance. They are of small size but everything else is fine

Placement Experience:

From pre final year students are eligible for campus internships, and final year students are eligible for placements. Around 400 companies visit our college for placement every yr. Name of companies: google, Microsoft, TATA, RELIANCE, ZOMATO, ACCENTURE, GAIL, HPCL, DE SHAW, FLIPKART, AMAZON, MEESHO, L&T etc. More than 90% students get placed from all branches Highest packages offered around 1Cr. We can get placed in government sector too after clearing exams We are also eligible to get seat in other IITs for higher studies with a CPI of 7.5

7TH SEMESTER ONWARDS STUDENT ARE ELIGIBLE FOR PLACEMENT PROCESS. SEVERAL TOP TIER SOFTWARE COMAPNIES LIKE GOOGLE, MICROSOFT AND PHONE PE WERE A PART OF PLACEMENT DRIVE THAT RUNS FROM SEPTEMBER TO MARCH. AROUND 352 COMPANIES OFFERED 1000+ JOB OPPORTUNITYTO STUDENTS WITH HIGHEST PACKAGE OF INR 1.68 CRORE. AVERAGE IS AROUND INR 22.56 LPA AND LOWEST OFFER WAS INR 6 LPA. AROUND 80 % STUDENTS GET PLACED EVERY YEAR. CORE COMPANIES LIKE JSW, BAJAJ AND TATA ALSO VIST THE CAMPUS. MY PLANS AFTER GRADUATION IS TO JOIN JSW GROUP AFTER GETTING A PPO.

Life at IIT BHU

The academics is very very good the professors are also very good all of the professor is are doing some research work and most of them are from some foreign universities that studied from there and the quality of education is also very very nice and
Second night most like is the culture of our college there are various clubs and society that are there I was the part of graphic design club and the seniors are also very very helpful at each and every phase of our institute seniors are there to hel
Our campus is very good it's very green and also very clean and it feels very nice here

Dislikes

Are the hostels condition especially when it comes to the boys is very very bad I mean the rooms are small and the toilets are also not clean and the complaints are not very very well listen to otherwise same time the canteen qualities bad.
So IIT BHU is open campus that is the people from outside can visit our campus anytime so that is not a very safe when it comes to the students inside here and but after 10 o'clock at night they cannot comes over which is good but yes it is not very
Any place is not there where we can have group discussions at late night in most of the IIT is open places that for students but in our campus open space is not there for us library is also not 24/7 open

Placement Experience:

Are the placements as the said is very good when it compared to other favourite colleges in India and also some of the IIT and all are the NITs the average package goes around 20 lacs per annum and sometimes there is also politics when it comes to the placement and it comes to placement we have to give examinations of each and every company that visits and the company then send the list of the students who qualified the examination and then there are interviews that around 3 to 4 rounds of interviews and then the final selection happen and when it comes to the end around 90% of the students are definitely placed.

First semester at IIT BHU

Likes

Sports facility is very good , there are coaches for each sports
You will get good friends and will make memorable memory
It is a green campus unlike other parts of banaras

Dislikes

Girls to boy ratio is less although there is girls quota
Infrastructure is very poor it need to be improved
It is not a closed campus, so security reasons

Course Curriculum Overview:

Basically , I choose this course due to my JEE Advanced rank, for my rank this college was best, courses are well structured, but some courses should be dropped as it is just a waste of time such as course of manufacturing practices.

IIT BHU gives many oppurtunties for students
IIT BHU has variety of fields where students can find their own interest
IIT BHU has beautiful grounds and many indoor games

Dislikes

IIT BHU is old campus which was built in olden days
IIT BHU also had a disadvantage of foods
IIT BHU hostel facilities are also not good from 3rd year

Actually IIT BHU is ranked top 10 among the latest NIRF rankings provided .Also it is ranked 2nd among the placement wise.IIT BHU cse has very good placement record and the average package which you can get here is 30 lakhs .

My friend is an alumnus of IIT-BHU and he was a member of the Kashi Utkarsh too. He claims the organization is doing really well in eradicating the prevalent social constraints through the collective efforts of the group. The body convinces the financially weak families living in Varanasi slums to send their children to schools with the help of KU funding.

As easy as this may sound, the actual process is very tiring. The families are hell-bent against education and persuading them is a big task. The relentless efforts of the team members of KU and their compassion to serve the weak have brought massive changes in society.

However, some students of the institute don’t give KU the respect they deserve and are not ready to spend a single penny claiming that KU pockets the funds themselves.

If you visit the social media handles of the KU members, you will find a list of children who get into the formal education system along with their school fees being paid by KU. Dictionary the constant assistance from professors like Prof. Ashim Mukherjee with KU helps KU stay strong.

What are the changes that took place in the college after IT-BHU got converted into IIT BHU?

My friend was a student at IIT BHU and he witnessed a number of changes as the IT BHU got converted into IIT BHU.

The Vishwakarma hostel became a 3 storied building
Kashi yatra, the annual socio-cultural festival of IIT(BHU) Varanasi stayed open till 10.
The grading system first changed to absolute from relative and then finally back to relative grading.
Mid-semester tests were introduced in place of class tests.
One of the sandwich shops became a complete multi-storied restaurant.
The Chemical Engineering department was updated in many ways.
The students were no longer allotted single rooms.
The campus facilities were improved including the Internet connections.
The 90 % attendance rule was introduced.
The institute got 3 new directors.

These were some of the changes my friend witnessed after the IT BHU got transformed into IIT BHU.

My review of IIT BHU will be based on some very common parameters.

Infrastructure: The academic buildings are not air-conditioned and are equipped with obsolete instruments. The hostels are surrounded by natural beauty but the living conditions are pathetic with cramped rooms and dirty toilets. The poor LAN connections are a major major problem here.
Faculty: The faculty again is very disappointing. some even lack basic knowledge and some are too arrogant to guide the students. The answer sheets are checked in a disorganized way and the pedagogy adopted is old school. So here, you will have to completely depend on self-study.
Research: The majority of the faculty focuses on administrative tasks and fails to encourage students to research work. The institute has no globally recognized research work to date.
Facilities: The library has poorly organized books and lacks good study material. The LAN network is another major issue faced by students here. The departments are closed by 6 ok and the library is locked by 10 pm. This is a major hindrance during exams.
Campus life: The frequent student activities make the campus life of IIT BHU lively and dynamic. A number of activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students and Kashi Yatra is the annual cultural festival of the institute. There are amazing sports facilities like huge grounds and fields for Cricket, Football, Badminton, and Tennis.
Placements: IIT BHU has one of the best placements among the top IITs. Currently, IIT Bhu Placements 2023 is being held and around 474 offers and 305 PPOs have been made. IIT BHU's highest CTC was recorded at INR 1.2 CPA. A total of 117 recruiters took part in IIT BHU Placements 2023. Top recruiters included Airbnb India, Uber, Microsoft, Accenture, Piramal, etc. Last year the highest CTC stood at INR 2.05 CPA which was offered by UBER.

Overall, IIT BHU is a great choice if you are willing to sacrifice the hostel conditions and self-study.

Pharmaceutical Society and Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, IIT (BHU) organize the Nation's largest pharmaceutical fest-SPIRIT.

SPIRIT is an annual fest of pharmaceutical engineering & Tech. branch of IIT(BHU). It is a national level event where pass out students can also participate. Pharma and medical enthusiasts from the country come together in this two-day fest to encapture new ideas and innovations to bring out the best of the participants. There are many competitions where you can compete to share and gain knowledge and ideas. Workshops and seminars are also organized. IIT(BHU) is the only IIT having a pharma branch, that's why it is the best college of pharma. The Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU) was established in 1932.
