Course Curriculum Overview

4

Since i am in mining course. I chose this course to be a part of IIT BHU as i was getting this course as per my rank in JEE ADVANCED. I chose this college because of the peer group around, good entrepreneurship opportunities and the placements it offer. In mining course we are taught with images, videos on smart tv or projectors. They also have few machines in the labs to show or to work with to gain experience. The teaching should be more like through building projects and should be relevant with the modern times requirements. There are 2 exams during each semester i.e mid sem and end sem exams which are quite tough to score. There are 2-3 quizzes each semester

Internships Opportunities

3

Campus Interships are offered in 5th semester. Internships for many roles are offered like business analyst, SDE, consultant, etc. These companies provide varying stipend like for tech roles it offers high stipend like of 1-2 lakhs per month but for core it offers less like 30k-50k per month. Many companies like vedanta, wipro, uber, yahoo, tata steel, schlumberger etc provide internship opportunities

Placement Experience

5

From the 7 th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Average package is 22 lpa of our college. Total 1128 placement offers and 424 PPOs by end of 2024.top recruiters were google, Microsoft, goldman sachs, amazon, adobe, oracle, uber, TCS, L&T, Siemens , zomato, paytm, ola. Highest package was 2.2 crore per annum which was offered for the role of SDE. 85-90 percent of students secure placements while it varies with branches. If no campus placement then students apply for off campus placements or some pursue masters in other college or other go for exams like UPSC. my plan is to get a job during campus placement with a decent package

Fees and Financial Aid

I am an EWS category so i will be paying 66666 rupees that is one -third of tution fees. Caution money is 9000 which includes Institute, library and hostel caution money. One time payment at admission is 5750 which includes admission fee, student welfare fund and placement fee. Many Scolarships are provided to the students whose family income is less than 5lpa and has maintained a good required cpi during the semester. A general candidate has to pay 2 lakhs per year as tution fees and rest the same as me

Campus Life

4

Technex is the technical fest and it is held in month of February while kashiyatra is the cultural fest held in month of march. The fests are very splendid and are very fun to attend. The campus life is good and the campus is filled with greenery and it also has an old Vishwanath temple where you can jst go for peace and spirituality. The college has multiple clubs like masquerade (drama) club, COPS(coding), ecell (entrepreneurship), quants(finance), IMS and WMS i.e indian and western music club, also has sports club. Sports -boxing, badminton, swimming, taekwondo, lawn Tennis, squash, table tennis, etc many more games are present. These clubs enhances the personality of students and helps them ace more in life. There is a library which has large range of books available for the students to read or to issue for some duration. The classes have facilities like smart tvs, projectors and surround audio systems.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostels are built new for the first and second year students and are very great and remarkable.hostel facilities include free wifi, LAN network, study tables, cupboards, tubelights. Meal quality is good and is given a 3 time meal with good varieties. It provides 3 times chicken in a week and 4 times egg in the breakfast. Registration process is quite easy and is done at the same time of admission and is very affordable

Admission

I chose IIT BHU because it offers very good placements and has high NIRF ranking. It provides higher exposure in sports as it has swimming pool, boxing arenas, lawn tennis and squash. It also provides interaction with great personalities as they invite speakers to the college. The college organises outstanding fests for the students to enjoy. I had applied for lower branches in other top IITs and i got rejected as my rank was not up to their requirement. I had confirmed admission in nit allahabad(ECE) and nit jamshedpur (CSE) but i didn't go there because i wanted an IIT seat . Students get admission by qualifying JEE ADVANCED exams . The cutoff for a general male candidate to get admission in IIT BHU is 12500 rank while each branch has different cutoff like for cse cutoff is 1200 rank

Faculty

4

1:30 i.e Approx 30 students are taught or educated by each professor. Faculty to student ratio is very good and the proffs are quite approachable and very helpful. They are all very passionate and outstanding in their fields. They are working on different projects and also provide students opportunity to assist them. I liked the proff of Electronics dept. whose name was oppili prasad as he taught us relating to the practical life and he taught us as if to educate us not jst like to give lecture and go. I also liked maths proff whose name was vineet and he was great in teaching .i didn't like the proff of mechanical dept whose name was srihari as he jst writes the things on board and tell us to read. There are 2 main exams i.e mid sem and end sem exams. The exams are quite tough and needs consistency and great practice in different problems. Each semester, there are also 1-2 quizzes which constitutes in overall CPI. Many students fail in tough papers like MA101 and ME 102 i.e maths and mechanical subject respectively. Some courses are not quite relevant with current times like in computer science we are taught C language.

Interview Experience

3

No i didn't face any interview or group discussion to get admission. Instead i had given JEE ADVANCED which i qualified to get admission into the institute. I had secured 13k rank in the exam and had got 99.45 percentile in jee mains exam

Night Life

2

The first year students are not allowed outside the hostels after 10 p.m.the night life is not so good around the college as all shops gets closed. Only night canteens are functionalthat are present within hostels. Cafeteria is also not well developed. It seems like a regular dhaba like hotel which fails to provide many stuffs. Gym is present but it gets closed at 9pm . Hang out places are the ghats nearby like assi ghat or dashashwamedh ghat. One can go to the Vishwanath temple present in the campus. The students usually watch movies or play table tennis or online games to unwind the day

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate it average . It is comprehensive but not so useful as in todays world we require more skills than the formulas. It is related to communication and i am very interested in that . It is not very good for real world application but wr do learn about the basics and get hold of how everything work but does not cover advanced technology. Syllabus should be revised and should be more based on skills than theory and rattafication There are 3 to 4 exam per semester which can be very hectic that it feels like we are giving exams every few weeks. Difficulty is not that much but syallabus is really hard to cover amd we can not focus more on skills and projects more of the time we are giving exams

course curriculum is little bit out-dated, and improvements are needed in terms of syllabus. timing of exams are ok ok. so many assignments are given which is really hectic because their are deadlines to upload those assignments in google classroom. and one thing i hate about college is 75% attendence is must. due to this we do not get much time for our personal development.
