The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

A comprehensive review of Thapar institute of science and technology

Likes

Hostel facilities are really good hostels look like a hotel
The campus infrastructure is top class, it's very beautiful and lot of trees
Transportation - E rickshaws are available which takes you anywhere in campus for 10 rs.

Dislikes

The hostel mess, sometimes the food is so baad you cannot finish it.
The 75% rule for attendance compulsion with a hectic time table
When someone fails they need to pay 10 thousand to clear one couse which is a lot.

The courses are good, in first year it includes courses of all branches so that a student can change branch according to their interests. The faculty of some courses are very good and it's interesting to study, but some are very bad and you don't wanna attend their class.

Campus placements were awesome when I looked before joining but this year campus placement has dropped to a large extent earlier 300+ companies used to come and this time the count is 70 around. All companies generally take 10-20 students at Max. It's very rare that count is 100+

Thapar University....an experience

I loved the campus life. It was always alive.
The library is amazing and a heaven for book lovers.
Hostel and mess facilities are some of the best in the country for the price.

Dislikes

The hostel in time is very restrictive. 8:30 PM feels quite early to just sit in hostel.

Placement Experience:

Placements start in the 7th semester. Although the recession has hit the IT industry pretty hard, placements here are quite okay in that sense. The average placement is around 12 lakhs/annum for the CS branches. Many companies visit the campus like Apple, Accenture, IBM, Intel to name a few. The highest local placement is of about 55 lakhs.

A brief of TIET

Likes

Campus life is very good, I will say it's one of the best.
I think placements are good enough, not so disappointing
Faculty of the college are iit and IIM graduated so it's one of the things I liked the most after infrastructure

Dislikes

I think return of investment is not so good
Placements are ok but according to the fees they are slightly on lower side
As you know the location, there is somewhere alcoholic and drug culture

Placement Experience:

For campus placement students are eligible from 2nd year *not sure. As I saw the data there are many companies like around 300-400 companies visited and gives around 1800 offers actually I see this data from offical site. Highest package is around 50 lac and average is around 13 lac but there are many students who got off campus opportunities and got packages of 1cr and more. I think around 80 percent students are placed every year, but on university's site this number is more than 95. I think I will go for masters after my degree.

Honest review about Thapar University

Likes

Campus Life which includes a beautiful campus and facilities
College societies which affects your overall development
Sports facilities which includes every single sports and flexibility to play any sport

Dislikes

There is a lot of fees in thapar , 6lakh per year is a lot of fees
Taking students on the basis of their boards marks
Course curriculum, as in first year , students of all branches are taught the same syllabus

Placement Experience:

Students get internship in their second year of college. Lot of companies including apple and Google visited thapar and offered package. Highest package was around 60lakh and average goes around 12-15 lakh. My plans after completing degree is to go for higher studies

campus placements begin from the 7th semester with many companies ranging from deliotte amazon, flipkart, google, goldman sachs, and many more. no of offers are also decent with the highest package worth Rs 45 lakhs and average being in the range of 11 - 15 lakhs depending on the course selected.

Infrastructure is quite good in Thapar even the library of Thapar is the seventh best library in asia
placement are quite impressive here as compared to other private engineering colleges
The faculty members are quite helpful and have in depth knowledge about there subject

Dislikes

the intake of punjab students are very high which results in high cutoff difference between outside punjab and punjab students creating a certain angle of favourism towards punjab students .
students have to reach the campus by 8 pm and hostels by 8:30pm which is quite dissappointing for students,
intake of students are increasing year by year in tiet which resulting in degradation of crowd and placements . and increase in fees

Placements are quite impressive in paper with average package stood around 10 LPA last year student starts getting placement offers in six semester like top colleges the measure recruiters in their Topper are JP Morgan Chase and corporation apple Amazon Microsoft Samsung Deloitte Oracle the highest package student thapar institute of technologies 55 lakes for computer science branchs and 40 lakh for electronics branch there are so many startups which are owned by top of the aluminis almost 90% of students waiting for placement squares placed in TI ET with a good package as the number of companies visiting in the campus are great in numbers with so many good packages my plan after btech is to do masters in MBA from America versus collaborated with Harper international program

Is it worth joining Thapar University?

Likes

Campus life is good here you meet students from different states.
Girls ratio is way better than any other engineering colleges.
Faculties are very helpful and understanding.

Dislikes

You have regular quizzes and sessionals.
Campus and hostel timings need to be increased.
Attendence criteria of 75% is very strickely followed.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placements after 6th sem average placement is about 10 lakh here. Jp Morgan recruits many students from Thapar University. Almost every companies visits here amazon, microsoft, etc.

College With Best Campus

Likes

Campus is really big and good.Provided with parks,skywalks and foutains.
Sports faciility is really good.Grounds are really big and there is courts build for every game.Inter collge sports event is also held once per year
Wide range of hostel selection.From ac rooms to non ac,from single seter to four seaster,you can choose from any one

Dislikes

Constructions are happening most of the time,disturbing students.
Mess food quality is not same everywhere,despite mess fee remaining same

Every semester student is eligible for placement. But mostly placement starts from the 4th semester.TIET helds a placement cell event for it. Most people get placements by the end of the 7th or 8th semester.TIET has an average package of 8 LPA, and the highest new hit is 40 LPA. TIET is visited by many companies like Google, Microsoft, and many more.96% of students get placed by 7th-8th semester.

My Honest Review about Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology.

I really liked the campus, its infrastructure and even the teachers .

Dislikes

The fees is too high. I think it could have been less but except that I think overall the college is very good and you can take admission here.

Placement Experience:

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology provides on campus placement opportunities as well as internship opportunities from the fourth year and third year respectively. The main companies include Accenture, Amazon, Flipkart, JP Morgan and many more. If you do not want to opt for placement then you can go for higher studies as well like mtech or any other. My plan is basically to take placement and get settled. But every person has their own choice and can go for mba, mtech or any government examinations.Tge average package is around 10 lakhs and there are many students who receive package above 15 lakhs and 20 lakhs. You can even start your internship before 3rd year but college does not play role in this.

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
