Likes
- The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
- Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
- The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.
Dislikes
- I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
- Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
- Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

- Fees in on higher side as compared to other collleges
- Wifi facility should be improved and some hostels need to be reconstruction
- Faculty can be improved and exam pattern can be changed.
Placement Experience:
Placement of the college is very good you will be placed definitely.
Placement even in non tech branches are great.
Around 200 companies visit every year for placement.
Highest package was around 50 lakhs with average of 11.5 lakhs.
Around 90% student's are placed from computer branch and 70% from non tech branches

- More things to explore in the campus. Societies and clubs are here and placements are also good
- Library is the best ever thing in the campus .Study environment is good
- Cos market and cafes are really good and affordable here
Dislikes
- Some core branches don’t get to sit in good decent companies interviews.
- Tuition fees and hostel fees is really expensive. Overall living in thapar is expensive
- Delhi crowd is more here and they make their own group and don’t get mix up with other people

My course is computer engineering and I want to be software engineer that's why chosen the course . Teachers have a good experience here and we can take oyr doubts to them . Before Mid semester test there are few number of sessionals and lab evaluations. After 10-15 days results are there

- Thapar is not strict regarding freely roaming around outside campus even at night, they just send a message at home
- Hostels are good, they provide sense of homely feeling

- Teachers are not good, most of them are from IITs and they are ruining the college totally.
Placement Experience:
Placements are good Top companies recently visited like google, oracle, linkedin, samsung on campus. They mostly hire CS AND ELECTRONICS STUDENTS
Civil, mechanical students mostly get non-core jobs. Avg package of last year was around 10 lakhs. Avg of cs department is 14-15 lakhs. Electronics is around 13 lakhs. Electrical & Instrumentation branches is around 11. Around 97% of cse students get placed in tiet.

- State kota , there is a State kota for punjab students

College placement is very excellent almost every companies visit our college like Google , Adobe , Microsoft , de shaw and the average package is also around 12 lakhs per annum. And median I think 11 lakhs

I am quite satisfied with the course i am having. Highly qualified staff that co-operates and supports us is the best thing I can say. The things are quite relevant with the ongoing thing that are going currently

- Thapar's Library is the thing which I liked the most.
- The centre of attraction is Nirvana Park of Thapar.
- No kind of ragging happens in Thapar which I as a junior like.
Dislikes
- Some unnecessary subjects like Energy and Environment.
- 75 percent attendance is mandatory which I don't like.
- I don't like classes which are in early morning like 8 am.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course subjects are completely relevant for First year engineering btech program. But I felt like subjects like Energy and Environment and Chemistry are not significantly important for a Computer Engineering student. Exams happen twice in a semester as MST and EST.

- Social life in our college is quite good
- Events organised by societies improving soft skills
- Sports facilities improving physical fitness
Dislikes
- The repetition of the same mess menu for full semester
- Linguistic barriers between students and teachers from other state
- The fees is very high in college comparing to facilites
Placement Experience:
Placements in our college was good till 2016 but they drastically got a downfall. This year only 40-60% students got placed. Others got to do masters or did not qualify due to CGPA. Some of the students also got good packages.

Hyundai, ITC,BYJUS,Scaler were some of the top companies that visited the campus around my time the economy was hit by the covid pandemic which made it hard for good companies to visit

average - 6 lpa
My plan is to utilise my skills for the growth of the company i am working for and simultaneously improve my skills as an individual

The campus placements for the computer course are the best. And the college has 90 per cent placement. The packages offered are average 16 lpa and companies like JP Morgan, Microsoft, Google and Apple

- Sports favilities of thapar are topnotch. We can issue any equipment and play game of our choice from badminton to cricket or table tennis.
- Thapar hostels have great infrastructure. They looks like a 5 star hotels from inside
- Thapar has great spot Nirvana with a fountain which is a amazing place to spend time upon

- Quality of food in mess is somentimes not so good
- Sometimes E vehicles are not available in summers
- Fees of thapar is a issue as it is quite a big amount to pay for a middle class families
Placement Experience:
From 6 semester studeng becomes eligible for campus placements . Companies such as blackrock, microsoft ,amazon, synopsys, texas instruments , american express etc come to pur college. The highest package this year was of 55 lakhs and average package went around 15 lakhs. Percentage of students getting placed was about 82 percent. My plans after getting degree is to do job and then start my entrepreneurship journey

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.
Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.
However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.
Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University offers a good MCA program. The institute has a brilliant MCA faculty base. It offers good learning resources, and laboratory facilities to meet the requirement of students.
Thapar University placement highlights show the average CTC offered to MCA students is around INR 7 LPA. While the highest CTC offered is around INR 8 LPA. TCS, Infosys, and Fidelity are among the major recruiters in the placement drive.
