What Students Say

Likes

Thapar's Library is the thing which I liked the most.
The centre of attraction is Nirvana Park of Thapar.
No kind of ragging happens in Thapar which I as a junior like.

Dislikes

Some unnecessary subjects like Energy and Environment.
75 percent attendance is mandatory which I don't like.
I don't like classes which are in early morning like 8 am.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course subjects are completely relevant for First year engineering btech program. But I felt like subjects like Energy and Environment and Chemistry are not significantly important for a Computer Engineering student. Exams happen twice in a semester as MST and EST.

Class Size: 125Course Fees: INR 450000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is quite high and it keeps on increasing every year. The complete cost for 4 years will be around 30 lakhs. But the Institute provides you scholarship based on your JEE Mains score as well as on the basis of your CGPA.

Campus Life

Overall experience is quite good. Annual fest of thapar are Saturnalia, Thapar Food festival, Urja, and many more. Thapar's Library is the seventh biggest private institute Library in the world. Here you can find a number of books for your course as well as for the entrance examination preparation.

Admission

The admission was based on JEE Mains Examination score. The application forms were available at Thapar website. Fees for application form was around 2000. I did not receive any benefit since I am from General category. Also I am not from Punjab so did not have punjab quota as well.

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good and cover every aspects of learning and skills needed in today's time but it feels the semester get over to fast in around 3.5 months with 3 exams and lab exam. They should provide the real learning based on a student interest some student are good in coding but they lack to communicate better, they should focus on that part also as they also do in many cases by giving subjects like soft skills and communication skills every sem.The teacher should not be reading the ppt only . We can do that also why we are paying that much fees just to learn from a teacher who is just reading the slides.

Placement Experience:

Course Curriculum Overview:

i would rate the course curriculum as largely relevant and fairly comprehensive,. one of the main reasons i chose this course was the balance between conceptual foundations and practical exposure. the curricuum supports future academic growth since many of the modules introduce us to advance topics early, making it easier to explore research. some topics feel slightly outdated and could be aligned better with the current industry skills and technologies. the exam schedule is manageable, though sometimes multiple assessments happen in the same week or same day, ehich adds pressure . Spacing out evaluations a bit more and giving clearer rubrics could improve the overall experience

Honest is the best Policy

I was getting addmission in some other private colleges but this was near to me and had a great rew.. Its infra and hostels are really worth it. Bits Pilani was the other college that I applied for but in there entrance exam I didn't score enough to get a branch of my liking. I applied for VIT and SRM but didn't take admission due to poor quality of placements and peer group. I am from the General Outside Punjab quota.
