Likes

Campus life is good here you meet students from different states.
Girls ratio is way better than any other engineering colleges.
Faculties are very helpful and understanding.

Dislikes

You have regular quizzes and sessionals.
Campus and hostel timings need to be increased.
Attendence criteria of 75% is very strickely followed.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum for cse is good compared to other colleges. you have MST and EST exams 30% and 40% weightage respectively and rest is for labs, sessionals and quizzes which is conducted before mid sem and end sem.

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 600000 per year

Internships Opportunities

College provides internships oppurtunity but its very difficult to avail it since there are many students you need atleast 9.5 CGPA and projects for internship. Companies comes for internship from fourth semester.

Placement Experience

Students are eligible for placements after 6th sem average placement is about 10 lakh here. Jp Morgan recruits many students from Thapar University. Almost every companies visits here amazon, microsoft, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the batch of 2022-2026 first sem fees was about 218000 Rs and 10% increase in fees is there after every semester so total tution fees would be 20-21 lakh. after including hostels and misselleneous charges you would have to pay total 30 lakh rs. Scholarships are granted on the basis of merit you would have to be in top 10% student to avail it.

Campus Life

Infrastructure of Thapar University is no doubt very good. You have many socities to choose on the basis of your interest. Campus life is vey fun here. Saturnalia is annul fest here although many other fests , technical and sports events like urja is happening throughout the year.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels of thpar university could be best in India. Mess food is above average. you can easily avail hostel here since there are almost 20 hostels. Hostels caretaker is friendly and understanding. Hostel fees is about 80000 rs including mess.

Hostel Fee: INR 160000 per year

Admission

Admission to Thapar University is based on both class 12 percentage and jee mains percentile. You can find application form on official website of Thapar University application fees is about 1500 RS. cutoff for cse is around 98% in boards and 95-96 percentile in jee mains although after 3-4 rounds cuttoff decreases.

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good and cover every aspects of learning and skills needed in today's time but it feels the semester get over to fast in around 3.5 months with 3 exams and lab exam. They should provide the real learning based on a student interest some student are good in coding but they lack to communicate better, they should focus on that part also as they also do in many cases by giving subjects like soft skills and communication skills every sem.The teacher should not be reading the ppt only . We can do that also why we are paying that much fees just to learn from a teacher who is just reading the slides.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i would rate the course curriculum as largely relevant and fairly comprehensive,. one of the main reasons i chose this course was the balance between conceptual foundations and practical exposure. the curricuum supports future academic growth since many of the modules introduce us to advance topics early, making it easier to explore research. some topics feel slightly outdated and could be aligned better with the current industry skills and technologies. the exam schedule is manageable, though sometimes multiple assessments happen in the same week or same day, ehich adds pressure . Spacing out evaluations a bit more and giving clearer rubrics could improve the overall experience

Honest is the best Policy
