Dislikes

The college is too strict with attendance,if a student’s attendance is below 85 he has to pay a fine of ?5000,?3000 and ?2000 and if the student has a less than 75% attendance then he/she is detained which is very wrong ~ Abhinaba Bhuyan, BA

Life at Christ

Likes

I liked that the college have lots of opportunities and encourages students to participate in various events. It focussed on lots of development programmes including both academic and personal development. It has modern facilities and infrastructure.
It has a lush green, serene enviornment for the students. The library, situated in the top floors gives a very calm and peaceful place with a great view and a wide space for the christites.
It contains students from across the states and world which makes interaction much easier to make friends and expose oneself to various culture. It brings in lots of open minded and talented people and provides space to appreciate their culture.

Dislikes

Some the faculties are not well trained and they do not give proper assignments that test students knowledge. Teachers sometimes look down on themselves and students from their course and deny from participating with all the other courses like BCom
The securities are very rude and doesn't treat the the students with respect. They don't give proper replies and sometimes ignore the requests. They are also sometimes biased towards students who are their friends and help them to in and out easily.
The campus is really small. Hardly enough space to fit in such a huge crowd. All the PU, UG, PG, PhD students studying in the same campus. Forget about sports facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum for BSc is simply the extended version of 11th and 12th standard portions in the first year. It includes the same concepts and the teaching method is rather ordinary and boring and doesn't seem to focus on making the students live the subject but is rather focussed on marks and other upcoming exams. A teacher kept insisting us to do certain problems skipping the others considering the factory that it is very important for a exam after UG. She also stated that everyone are most likely to take up teaching as a job after this which shows how narrow minded and shallow the opinions and minds of the teachers are. This amounts for a greater level of discouragement.

A first year in Christ University

Likes

The library, university has 2 libraries in the Central campus and both are good collection of books and also has very peaceful environment to studu
The teaching staff are very nice ,and open to questions
The opportunities that students have to take part in events is insane. This guves u place to explore your intrests

Dislikes

The security personnel are little too strict, college life is ment to be enjoyed sooo
Attendance criteria is very strict unlike rest colleges of 75 percentage requirement christ has minimum final attendance of 85 percentage
The place where college is situated is not ideal as its near a main road and often airforce planes fly above the campus making it but disturbing

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the ciriculam can be updated a bit more , as this specific course is for research some what indepth syllabus would have been better but it has sufficient standard.The syllabus is sufficient to carry on with your further academic pursuits but bit of self efforts are mandate I feel the depth main subjects can be increased and teaching methods are good and intaractive Exams are properly conducted with taking consideration about the chapter outcomes and checking your grip in a chapter from all kinds of questions, The exams are moderate in toughness

Christ : Promoting Development

Likes

I really like the college campus . It’s huge
The holistic development promoted is at another level.
The faculty is really nice and they deal with all our doubts.

Dislikes

I have to wear ID card all the time at college
Sometimes the college gets a little too hectic due to continuous classes
It’s mandatory to have atleast 75% attendance

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course has a club called Stada which invites professionals from the industry . We can learn from their experiences . The course system at christ is similar to the corporate workspace and it prepares us for the industry. The exams at the University seems to be of the moderate level .

Interdisciplinary programs and research opportunities with experienced and most efficient faculties and diverse range of courses and specializations
Vibrant cultural and extracurricular activities with diverse student body from across India and globe and so supportive and inclusive environment and modern facilities and infrastructure
Access to well-stocked libraries and digital resources with mentorship programs, academic guidance, career counseling, placement services and sports and fitness facilities

Dislikes

Strict attendance policies, heavy workload and emphasis on rote learning with limited flexibility in course selection.
Limited funding for student clubs and organizations, restrictive policies for events and activities and prioritization of academics over extracurricular.

Course Curriculum Overview:

BSC Physics Chemistry course is one of the best combinations as it objects to develop foundational knowledge in physics and chemistry , apply mathematical and computational tools to solve problems and cultivate analytical and problem-solving skills . There are experienced faculties with research expertise , well-equipped laboratories and research facilities and interdisciplinary approaches and projects with industry collaborations and internships .

Placement Experience:

Students get eligible in the third year itself they start getting intership offers and all those things and the companies which come to our college are very high field and branded companies.90 percent get places there and my plan is to join the placement offers itself

the curriculum is well structured, it is not just random subjects compiled together
the subjects are taught in every semester in a coherent manner rather than randomised manner
will equip you with squirrels that are required for future publications, admissions or job

Dislikes

student experience burnout quite often because of back to back submissions and exams
faculty is not always very cooperative or empathetic minute comes to understanding you
some subjects are irrelevant to the degree that your pursuing

the favourite part about my degree is the curriculum. it is thought out and comprehensive. the faculty had kept in mind the future requirements and skill that are going to be required by the student. every subject is well backed and followed by relevant subjects.

My life as a college student

Likes

The things I liked about my college that you get many opportunities and there are many clubs that you can join. It can really enhance your experience when it comes to arts and culture, and it really helps you to break open as a person
You also learn the value of time and punctuality where sometimes classes Really early and You manage your time accordingly. It also helps us to be systematic.
And each semester, the courses we learn changes and everything is very interesting to learn as in. I’m learning forensic science right now which has forensic physics and engineering added to it which makes it more interesting.

Dislikes

Sometimes all the works gets hectic because the dates of the deadline overlap each other, and you have to work on a Time crunch, so everything feels very hectic

The course curriculum is very interesting because it includes all kinds of feel such as forensic physics, forensic engineering, biotechnology, English and these courses change each semester. So new courses gets added every semester, which makes it more interesting

The ambiance and people, they are very good
Many clubs to provide great future opportunities
Good faculty, regular internship offers , exposure to larger domain of world

Dislikes

It is far from my house , have to travel long
College dosent has its own transport for central campus
People from all backgrounds are here , which is good but still some think it's bad

The course circular is really good , we get regular assignments to practice our theory knowledge and have practical periods too , which help us catch up with the theory part fast and our teachers provide us the access to external paid apps so we can practice there for free

I liked the environment it provides. Like there is everything available for the students good food to good classrooms.
I like the competitive environment of the college.
It fosters holistic educational development.

Dislikes

Very strict regarding attendance and uniform
Very time bound when it comes to class timings.

Placement Experience:

This college is going to provide me placements as they try very hard for all of their students to get good placements. They dont take placements lightly. They provide many courses in order to develop skills which are required in corporate world.

The curriculum is relevant with respect to a science degree and offers a wide range of subjects.
Speakers travel from far and wide to conduct informative sessions related to our courses.
Christ encourages students to not only excel in their studies, but also to participate in extracurricular activities.

Dislikes

Some specific subject syllabi lack structure.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Christ for its curriculum because they were one of the few colleges that offered science related subjects under this degree (Bachelors of Science (Hons) Psychology). These subjects include Psychology, Bio-chemistry, Statistics and Artificial Intelligence. Many ability enhancing, skill enhancing, multidisciplinary, and value added courses are offered as well. The curriculum could improve in terms of structure and taking into account suggestions.

Christ University is a very good option for M.Sc. Clinical Psychology as it offers course with the disciplinary advances. The course addresses knowledge about Psychological functioning. The university provides hands-on experience in the course.

Christ University is one of the best private universities where you can pursue an M.Sc Data Science program. You can apply for admission in this program if you have completed a BCA degree or a B.Sc degree in Mathematics/Computer Science/Statistics from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
