GGU FAQs
Ques. What is your review of the Institute of Technology, Guru Ghasidas University?
Ans. The Institute of Technology at GGU is well-equipped with modern laboratories, experienced faculty, and strong industry connections. It offers quality engineering education at affordable costs. The placement rate for B.Tech programs reaches 80-90%, with companies like TCS, Wipro, and Microsoft recruiting regularly. The median salary is INR 4.50 LPA with highest packages reaching INR 64 LPA. The campus infrastructure is excellent with a 665-acre green environment. Overall, it's a reliable choice for engineering education among central universities.
Ques. Is it suitable to take admission in Guru Ghasidas University (a central university) than any private college?
Ans. Absolutely yes. GGU offers multiple advantages over private colleges: NAAC A++ accreditation, central government funding, affordable fees (INR 34,600-36,800 per year for B.Tech), strong placements (80-90% for engineering), and excellent campus infrastructure. As a central university, GGU provides superior academic quality, recognized degrees, and better faculty-to-student ratios. Private colleges often charge 3-4 times higher fees with similar or lower placements. GGU is definitely a better choice for value, quality, and long-term career prospects.
Ques. What are the pros and cons of studying Engineering in Guru Ghasidas University?
Ans. Pros: Strong 80-90% placement rate, highest package of INR 64 LPA, modern labs and facilities, experienced faculty, affordable fees, 665-acre green campus, NAAC A++ accreditation, central university status ensuring quality education, and good industry connections.
Cons: Limited placement opportunities for non-CSE branches in initial rounds, located in tier-2 city (Bilaspur), fewer startup opportunities compared to metro-based universities, and smaller alumni network compared to older IITs and NITs.
Ques. After seeing Guru Ghasidas University, can we expect Indian universities listed as top universities?
Ans. Yes, Indian universities have immense potential to rank among global top universities. GGU's NIRF ranking (47 in Pharmacy, 20 in Education), NAAC A++ accreditation, and strong placements prove quality Indian education exists. With better funding, research focus, and international collaborations, universities like GGU can compete globally. IITs and DU already rank highly. The government's focus on research and infrastructure improvement is opening doors for more Indian universities to gain international recognition.
Ques. How is GGU for law?
Ans. GGU offers B.A. LLB (5-year integrated) and LLB programs with affordable fees (INR 9,800-11,000 per semester). The law faculty is experienced, and campus infrastructure supports legal studies well. However, campus placements for law are limited compared to top law schools like NALSAR and NLSIU. Most graduates pursue competitive exams (UGC NET, UPSC, judicial services) or establish private practice. The university provides good academic foundation, but career outcomes depend more on individual effort and competitive exam performance than campus recruitment.
