GGU Faculty: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 458 Reviews

The faculty at Guru Ghasidas University is diverse, with a faculty-to-student ratio ranging from approximately 1:5 to 1:50, varying by department. Professors generally hold advanced degrees from reputable institutions, such as IITs and NITs. They are knowledgeable and supportive, though some are noted for their poor English proficiency and less effective teaching styles. The university faces a shortage of permanent faculty, often relying on ad-hoc or temporary staff. Despite this, many faculty members are approachable and dedicated, offering practical-based teaching and personalized mentorship.

Exams are conducted with a structure of two internal exams and one end-semester exam, with an overall difficulty level reported as moderate. Faculty members assist with career and personal development, though some concerns were raised about the emphasis on handwriting over content in assessments. The campus environment is generally supportive, with regular interactions between students and faculty through seminars and fieldwork.

Like faculty to students ratio is 1: 50 and faculty are very supportive to their students and they are always available for their students. All Faculties are here amazing but personally I like My Constitution teacher, She is amazing with her unique interacting style. Exam curriculum is designed as per the Bar council rules and regulations. University do condut exam semester wise and in that student face 2 exam pet sem and one exam is practical based so basically it's total 3 exam per sem two internal and one final semester exam.. All question paper is based on case laws and understanding. Almost student managed to pass and teachers awards marks to them as per their performance and attentiveness in classroom.

Faculty:

Faculty to students ratio is approx 1:10, faculty to students relationship is good and they very approachable, there cabin is in the department only, you can meet them personally. I liked Rakesh Sharma sir for generousity and livilness and teaching in his unique way. Suraj sir physics faculty is most desliked faculty because of arrogant nature, he will always make you feel dumb no matter how intelligent you are. In a semester, there is firstly two class test(ct) is there, in that, question is asked from what the faculty had tought you, means if you had attended the class attentively then it will be very easy for you, and then your end sem exam, if you have attended the class properly and done pyq of 2 year, then it is very easy, only 5-10 students out of 111 fail the semester. The course curriculum is very relevant to the field.

Faculty to student ratio is good only. Faculty also depends on various departments. Biotechnology department has a very nice faculty with professors that have a lot of knowledge and experience. And they are always ready to help and very approachable. Depends upon the professor as well but most them will always teach and impart knowledge.

Faculty:

The faculty to student ration in my department is 1:10 . Our Faculty is very supportive and helpful. Every one is happy to help barring some one two professors which is common in every college . We can approach them anything during the classes hours that of 9-5 and we can message them of we have any doubts or call them in any help they reply if they are free . In mathematics department I like A K Thakur sir (HOD mathematics Department) most as the style of his teaching is very unique, he is very supportive to Students , he also motivates every students to play and come out to the field . The exam pattern is as follow: In ech semester their will be two CT ( Class Test ) and one end semester examination. CT will be of 15 marks each and end semester will be of 70 marks. Basically the syllabus is only the things which are covered in classes and is easy to pass yet some students fail for some reasons . The course curriculum includes almost all the important topics of IIT- JAM syllabus so it is relevant.

About 1:50, faculties were always short, So they filled in positions using local reserved category teachers who also studied from same college and same Departments, Akansha Gupta was the One I hated as she only gave good marks to students who licked her boots, the exams were easy, most of the teachers tells the questions beforehand to their favorites students.
