Approximately 6 out of 10 professors are considered good, with many holding PhDs and having extensive knowledge in their respective fields. The faculty-to-student ratio varies, commonly around 1:50 to 1:80, which can sometimes impact approachability and individual attention.

Faculty:

Faculty to student ratio is about 1:70. Some faculties are approachable but most of them are not so don't expect personal attention. I liked sachin Sharma sir of maths his teaching style was very interactive and was very cooperative with students . I didn't liked Navneeta mam of ECE she didn't put any efforts to teach . There are two exams in each semester mid sems and end sems most subeject mid sems and sems exams are kind of moderate but for some it's quite tough . About 5% students fail in the exam. Course is quite relevant

The faculties to student relationship is mostly good. Half of the faculties are approachable and helpful. I liked shantanu sir a lot as He was really friendly. I didn't like RS raw sir as he doesn't care about students and cares just about the college functions and activities. There are midsem exams and endsem exams. Difficulty is moderate. 15% students fails to clear the exams. The course curriculum is mostly relevant.

In college its not necessary that every faculty is good or bad likewise in my first year faculty I liked the most is rashtrapriya sir one of the reason is he teaches us electrical subject which I like to study. He was very good faculty never scolded anyone for attendance and talks to everyone very nicely. Some faculty are approchable whether some just come to teach themselves in first semester subjects were environmental chemistry, maths, electrical, electronics and English they were not too difficult. In second sem subjects were Engineering and machine drawing this was the difficult subject and most of the students failed this subject faculty of this subject was also not good, oscillation and wave optics it was decent subject, mechanics it was also not too difficult, maths, metallurgy this subject was easy but it's faculty checks paper very strictly.

The faculty to student ratio is unfavorable as number of professors should be increased. Most of the faculties are very approachable as they are ready to help you outside the class as well. There are two major exams in form of mid- semester and end-semester and then there are various class tests(CT) as well but don't take the CTs lightly as they will also contribute in your final score.

NSUT: 2 Answered Questions

Is NIT Delhi going to become as good as DTU and NSIT (or even better) in the future in terms of placements, faculty, and campus life?

Akriti Banerjeelives in New Delhi

NIT Delhi was established in 2010 and is still struggling to make its mark in the education world. As for your question, if NIT Delhi will reach the level of DTU and NSIT soon, I feel that it certainly will. The following points support my stance further

  • Every year, NIT Delhi has at least one student who gets ranked under 100 in GATE
  • A student of NIT Delhi has gone for GSOC more than one time and is now a CERN(European Organisation for Nuclear Research)Geneva.
  • NIT DELHI has highly qualified teachers and one of them worked in NASA, ISRO, and Japanese space organizations and then finally became a professor at NIT Delhi.
  • NIT Delhi's first convocation ceremony’s Guest of Honor was Shri Pranab Mukherjee.
  • The students here actively participate in research work and the Director itself has published 300 research papers in International/National journals.
  • One of NIT Delhi's alumni has the honor of joining IIM Indore.
  • NIT Delhi placement 2021 recorded an 88% placement percentage and top companies like Adobe, Amadeus, Avalara, and Code Nation visited the campus.
  • NIT Delhi has the second fastest internet in India.

NIT Delhi may be lacking in terms of campus and alumni but it’s nothing that cannot be improved in the years to come!
