Course Curriculum Overview

5

I think I'm a curious student. Integrating biology with technology is interesting Recently we are studying animal tissue culture plant tissue culture which is superb. Generating a plan from a single cell is truly something interesting. I was drawn to genetics and biotechnology application . This curriculum prepares a student for research and industrial purpose . We get to do lab experiments project work under professors. In my opinion improvement can be done by industrial visits Exams take place at the end of each semester and we have mid sems in between

Fees and Financial Aid

I pay 37340 rupees every semester. I do not have any scholarship or reservation. Our college provides with scholarship for students People who have got 85% and above in their 10th and 12th standard will get a scholarship of about 50 % off. Our college provides scholarship for people who have sports certification who have played for the state or for the nation. During the admission our college takes something around 60-62k

Campus Life

4

Each department has their own events and fests. But we do have a diwali fest which is fun. Apart from that we celebrate science day. Our library has almost all the books that we require for the curriculum. They even provide us with pyqs We have a sports club as far I know they football ( I maybe wrong) We have drama clubs dance clubs music clubs modelling group.

Admission

There are a few private colleges present in Kolkata which provides biotechnology but in my opinion the labs of those colleges are not as well furnished as ours. There curriculum is little different than ours. I didn't apply to any other colleges apart from Snu for biotechnology I sat for an online exam .And I cleared the test. Once you get a call you visit the college campus meet the faculty and the faculty may take a type of interview session The addmission process is smooth. But sometimes the staff members of admission makes blunder. My classes were about to start from 17 August, but they called me during July( because she didn't know that biotechnology does not fall under para- medical and made a mistake and for her mistake I had to suffer as I'm not a resident of Kolkata)

Faculty

All our teachers are approachable. No one in our department is scared to ask doubts. Teachers in our department are highly educated and cooperative. I like all my faculties. I have enjoyed the classes of all my professors. We generally have continuous assesments for elective subjects. We don't have to sit for end sem for these subjects. Like we have projects, viva quiz presentation and attendance. But for the main subject we have to sit for the end sem exam obviously. Our teachers take at least two class test for these subjects. And then we have mid sems of 20 marks and at the end the semester exams. We also have practical exam. Viva exam is taken by the external.and the writing part is usually of 30 marks. And for the rest we have to conduct the experiment maybe not the full but as said

Night Life

Our college has a gym. Which is absolutely free for the students. Our college has a cafe ( but that is temporary shut) Library is big and stuffed with books Hostel in timing is around 8 for girls I'm not aware about the boy's hostel There's a glass garden, rabindra tirtha, axis mall CC2 mall . The very famous eco park And biswa bangla the hanging resturant
