In St Xaviers College discipline is valued greatly. there is an academic environment that is influenced by good professors and better students. I had applied to other colleges but I do not regretch my decision one bit of coming to St Xaviers College Kolkata

Our curriculum ensured that students are acute with mathematical tools on the first year itself. We have differential equations and abstract algebra in first year which other colleges cover mostly in other years areas of improvement code include greater weightage on classical algebra.

Our college has a very active placement cell that fetches jobs for everyone who needs and deserve it. The highest package was 24 lacs per annum last year and it is only expected to go up this round almost all students to set for placements are placed but in my department specifically most opt for higher studies like myself.

The fees varies with your choice of subject. The total tuition fee for every year is around 30000. There are a number of scholarships and financial aid opportunities available on both a need and merit based basis, the details of which can be found in the college website.

The campus is in close proximity to two metro stations and the American society hence people find a lot of things to do around the college period our Central library has 91000 books and thereare hree such libraries. There is a mediate of societies in St Xavier's College Kolkata. I myself from a part of two societies The Xaverian Academy of Dance and Music and the debate society.

The faculty to student ratio varies with department. In our year we have 70 students and 5 professors. The faculty is easily approachable and always willing to clarify our issues, both inside and outside the class. There are class tests, midsems and endsems. The exams are not easy, and one has to study hard to pass. That, in turn, becomes a motivator for students. The curriculum, especially after the 2023 revamp, is extremely relevant to higher studies and industrial applications. Many people have gotten into prestigious institutes of great academic repute and industries after passing out from here , one of the best faculty members is professor Anindya Dey, himself an author of multiple books on the repeated publication houses.

There was no group discussions interview or Admission Test. We were admitted on the basis of a performance in our board examination along with an evaluation of extracted activities and past achievements.

I am not aware of the postal timings since I am a day scholar but I can say that the nightlife of Park Street and St Xavier's College Kolkata is second to none. Our college is in close proximity to Allen Park and the American society hence there are a lot of places to hang out and wind of after a long College Day.
