Course Curriculum Overview

3

I’m doing History (Hons) at DCAC. I took this course because I had interest in this particular subject. The syllabus is big and covers Indian and world history. And I am also preparing for UPSC.. from there I came to know that those books which are referred in classrooms are very helpful even for UPSC and the syllabus which we study is very vast which covers indian history and world history . Teachers are good but teaching is old-style, mostly lectures. Not many group works or projects. I feel more field trips, workshops, and interactive classes should happen. Exams come two times – December and May. Papers are long answer type. If you attend class and revise, you can do well. Not too hard. Course is more theory, not much practical.

Fees and Financial Aid

In my batch, I paid around 10,015 rs. every year. So the total for 3 years is around 30,045 rs.. The fee stays almost same every year. No big increase. This fee includes tuition, registration, development and some other charges like library and student activity fee. Other than that we also have to pay examination fee around 1,500-2,000 rs. Before each semester. College provide scholarship programmes as well as some of my friends are beneficiaries of it .. but I don't know much about it .

Campus Life

Infrastructure of this college is not soo good. But the clubs which are there in the college are very active as they used to organise events frequently. I am also in a Club named Atharv : The Civil Services Society, Dcac. We recently in April organised our annual fest named Utkrisht'25. And it was really fun organising it. I learnt a lot many things related to management, organising, creative thinking etc. these clubs are completely run by students in guidance of some faculty of the college called as conveners.

Admission

I gave Cuet exam to take admission in this college. This college was on 7th rank in my preferences list as this college is not.much popular and as a outsider I knew only few college of Delhi University but because of normalisation process my marks cut down from 720 to 689 out of 800 which resulted my admission in DCAC. Other colleges which I placed before dcac in my preference list were all north campus colleges. Dcac is a south campus college located near bhikaji cama place metro station.

Faculty

Faculty of my college is really good as they are soo supportive and help students to gain practical knowledge rather than rote learning. The faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:40 in our college. Our college also have different societies/club which are supported by faculty to create a healthy and enjoyable environment with learning for students. Exams are not soo stressful in our college as syllabus are completed on time.!

Night Life

My college is located near Bhikaji cama metro station and the landmark area is the Leela palace . One of the most prime location of New Delhi. Near my college there is a place called ARD complex where mostly Students of are college stays in PGs and Flats . There is also a food area near the college which we call as Mini. Mini is the food enjoying area of every student of our college. Most of the students after college use to hangout at mini.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

There's a very active placement cell in my college. They conduct placement drives, webinars and workshops. Both the jobs and internships are offered. The best package was of 2024 offering 23 Lpa and the average is around 6 Lpa.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. The exam notes and everything is available at the photocopy shop that's inside the college. Writing this review really made me miss the college more

Placements definitely stands out as passive placement cell of the college is too good. They are quite aggressive and keep attacking us with getting ready for placements. As top corporate house like Big 4 and top Indian conglomerate also comes to our college for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Initially i took this course beacuse i filled it as a backup for coming into delhi university but now i can say that the course is very interesting and it is practically applicable in daily life. Tho the theory exams are quite difficult and subjects like advance mme where max students fail exist but then also it is doable and has market value

Placement Experience:

The college has a placement cell which comes up with lots and lots of internship and job offers throughout the year, you get multiple new job opportunities every week but the campus placement is not all that great, B Com courses have somewhat decent placements. the college doesn't push very much or try much to get students placed, you're on your own.

Placement Experience:

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
