Remarks

Overall college is good. They provide all the facilities which is needed by any student. Wifi , electricity, cold water, Library is newly built. Some people dont like mess food but that is upto individual.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriulum is different for each branch. And it is set according to branches. This illege has ollaboration with trinity college dublin which also plays a part in setting up curriculum of the college.exams are held twice each semester. Mid sem test and end sem test.

Placement Experience

Placements are provided by the college. Also internships are there in seventh semester. Internships are also there at the emd of third year for two months. Placements are about 90 percent of each branch.

College Events

There are many many events in thapar. Saturnalia north indias biggest fest. Thapar food festival where there is food of various kinds. Blak theatre ,beg borrow steal are various games for furst year. Virsa to show punjabi culture.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As it is private college it is quite expensive. Also it is worth because it provides facilities as well. Wifi facikity, newly built hostels, new library, ac class rooms and much more.So its overall worth the money paid.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes there are scholarships for needy people as well as meritorious students. Loan facility is also given to needy students . Top 10 percent of each branch are given scholarahips. Also on the basis of 12th marks they give scholarahips.

Campus Life

Sports events are held every year called thaparolympics . They give cash rewards to students who win. Labs are all equipped with all the facilities. For each branch it has labs comparative to IITs . Its good .

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are newly built and have all facilities of wifi, ac room single as well as double, 24 hour ac supply, good food at mess, Hostels are very cool overall. Hostel has gym also. Tv rooms for entertainment.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni is very good. Senior students are very helpful. There is no ragging. You can take their help anytime. They also guide students. Also provide counselling to students. Alumni is very friendly. They help students alot.

Admission

I got admission through jee main exam. It is conducted every year. Students can also get admission through neet exam for bio medical branch. They also have to give jee main. You just have to clear jee mains to get good branch.

Faculty

Faculty is good and is different for each branch. They are highly experienced and have their degrees from iits, nits and thapar as well. They are quite friendly with students. Students can get help any time they need.

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late

The hectic schedule and curriculum that the students have to follow.

Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
