Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum followed is in accordance to National education policy. Talking about Electrical engineering course curriculum it is very Practical and through laboratory experiments and field visits we get exposure about applying it to real world situations and practical applications. Many courses and subjects which are related to new technology are presented like DSA , AI, Cybersecurity and there are many other courses like Interprenuership . The frequency of classes are less which can be worked upon and night classes should also be implemented. Semester Exams are held every 6 months . It is moderately challenging but if a student has worked hard for the time being.. they will pass with flying colours. Every 2 months mid semester exams are conducted and they are easy. smart board is used to teach students . Improvements are needed in frequency of classes and improving teaching methods to engage students and create interest among students.

Internships Opportunities

1

The college provides very limited internships opportunities and only maximum 10percent of students from 3-4 branches get internships and there is no on campus internship opportunities for CSE , IT and ECE. The students have to do vocational training if they do not get the opportunity to do internships. Comapanies like TATA Steel , JSL, JUSCO comes to hire technical traniees and companies like ITC hires for supply chain management role. Stipen provided by TATA steel is 40 thousand per month, 30 thousand per month by JSL and Jusco and 50 thousand per months by ITC for a period of 2 months. The students are required to learn and work on topics like Electrical Control room management and they need to present a PPT on what they have learned and what they contributed to the company. Many students have to apply for of campus internships and they have very less chance to land on one. Almost all the interns are given PPO once reach 7 semester. The admin gives vacation for students to do thier VT and intenship . Ealry students also use to get internships opportunities through MITACS.

Placement Experience

4

The placement opportunities is decent for students. The placement of BIT sindri varies from branch to branch but the core brances like Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering has evergreen placements. Among the eligible students around 90 percent students get placed. But in branches like civil and production engineering, its not the same. They have very low placement rate around 20 to 30% of eligible students get placement. For CSE, IT & ECE the placement is highly dependent on the situation of market and it varies early. The students are eligible from 6 the semester onwards for placement . The placement drive starts from August or September and companies visit till students graduate. The top recruiters are TCS with more than 80 students from overall campus , TATA power nearly 20 , LNT, JSW , Vedanta , TATA STEEL, JSL, ADANI, ABG , Shyam steel and For it sector companies like samsung , cognisant, hitachi, TCs, Spyder visited for 2k21 batch. For the batch 2020-2024 among batch size of 710 around 620 offers were made. The highest package is given by samsung which is around 28 LPA , students of CSE, IT, ECE and Electrical are eligible. For IT sector average package is around 6 lakhs. For core sectors companies heightest package is offered by vedanta to Electrical, Mechanical, Mining which is around 14 lakhs average package is around 7 LPA.. Around 75- 80 percent students get placed during campus placement drive. The Wish to crack GATE and join PSU after my graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

The detailed college fee structure is as follow- 1. Year wise the students pay tutuion fee which is 1950 rupees for SC, ST and 4000 rupees for General students 2. Female students pay 32 rupees. 3. Students have to pay 2000 rupees for university examination registration. The total fee for full course will be around 24000 for SC, ST candidate , 32000 for General candidate and around 16200 for female candidates. There are several scholarships available for students of different categories who belong from unprivileged economic backgrounds. 1. There is E - Kalyan Scholarship for OBC, SC, ST students which pays around 25000 per year including hostel and tution fees 2. FFE for students having JOSSA CML below 1000 , which pays around 50000 yearly College is very affordable . Students also receive siemens scholarships and training and they also receive a laptop. Siemens scholarships pays around 60000 yearly and give training to the students everh semester at their centres at Mumbai, Pune , Bangalore.. There is no specific lab fees or development fees all are considered in tution fees During adminission around 8000 rupees is taken

Campus Life

3

The campus life is kind of average and due to its location it doesn't provide you places and people to get exposure to. The social life of students are quite engaging as their are many clubs and societies run by students which provide opportunities to develop their personality , skills and professionalism. Their are around 25 clubs and societies in which students from any branch can join . Apart from this their are branch societies form students of respective branches. I an club there are average 16 members from each batch. Unfortunately from last 5 years no cultural fest has been organised in BIT sindri. Technical Fest are conducted annually in the month of February or March. The technical club with help of administion organise this fest which for around 5 days. The college has its own central library where books for students of every branch is peresent apart from this many books related to other sectors like business, economics, psychology and other non engineering sector are their. There is a gym and 3 grounds in BIT sindri, evey year Sports event takes place. And students also participate in events organised by other colleges. New sports complex is being constructed. Clubs have a crucial impact on the students. In BIT sindri clubs and socities primalrily provides the platform to participate in extracurricular activities and help students to socialise and also helps male and female students to interact and work together.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel is provied to every student and hostels are separated for every batch. Hostels have Solar electricity and they are monitored by cameras, mess is also present in hostel. Common rooms have games like carrom to play. The rooms have fan , chair , bed and table provided. No wifi is provided. Meals in mess is bad and varies from hostel to hostel . Some hostel provide good food . And flexible for veg and non veg students. 4 days in a week non veg is served. 3 times meal is given. One can avail hostel without any problem they just need to do the documentation and give the fees. Hostels are quite affordable and cheap. The hostel fees is yearly 5 thousand and mess charge is 4000 per month. You cannot own a vehicle if you live in hostel .

Admission

For the following reasons I choose BIT Sindri- 1. It is very affordable 2. It is nearby my home. 3. Placements percentage is good for electrical branch which I opted. 4. It is well recognised by the people in industry and public sector 5. It is one the oldest college in india. 6. It has good alumini network and u can connect with them to explore opportunities. 7. It is the best engineering college of Jharkhand government. Comparing to other colleges I applied for It do not provide that much expore and opportunity but it has limited and secure placement. I applied for NITs and IITs .. comparing to them BIT has not at par facilities ,curriculum and placement and internship opportunities. I was not able to make to other colleges that I applied for is due to the reason that my CML in JEE Mains and Advanced was not enough to score me a seat. Now talking about the process of taking admission in college firstly you need to be a permanent resident of Jharkhand with proper documentation. Then with your jee score you can apply for JCECEB counciling program. A merit list is made according to your Jee Mains rank among the students who have registered for JCECEB counciling. After that according to your rank and seats your get college and branch. After that you need to just submit the documents and make the payment for tuttion fees , security fees and hostel if opted. I can have applied for other private colleges but they were expensive and on other hand BIT is affordable and has got good placements rate even if you are mediocre. The cutoff varies as per branch for CSE it is around 94 percentile for general candidates and the lowest percentile with which you can get admission is BIT sindri is around 80 percentile for general candidates

Faculty

3

The faculty members of our college are well qualified and have done their MTech and Phd from renowned IITs and NITs . And have average experience of 15 years The following is the exam and marking scheme - 1. There are 8 semesters whose results are given upon CGPA basis. 2. Every semester has 2 mid semester of 20 marks each. 3. semester exam is of 70 marks 4. Rest 30 marks is given from midsemster and attendance and assignments. Step marking is given to students . Faculty to students ratio is around 1 faculty per 15 students. Faculty to student relationship is subjective and some faculty are very supportive and helpful . Facilities like Dr. DK Tanti and Prof Shashi Minz are the most influential and respected faculty who have been involved with students in their careers and help them and guide us. Some facilities like Prof Rahul Kumar are not much admired because they are not supportive to students and fails the students deliberately if they are not in his good books. In batch strenght of around 800 students around 35-40 students get carry in the semester. Curriculum is updated with NEP

Night Life

2

The nightlife inside college is totally mid. There are hangout places inside or outside the college that are open as the locality is rural and not safe for any students at night. The campus itself is open campus that allows anyone to go in or out of campus which arises security issues. The college life is active around 10 pm after all the shops and places are closed . For girls it is mandatory to reach hostel by 8 pm. Their are 2 gym in locality and 2 gym inside college. Hostel timming are 10 PM for boys and 8 PM for girls. The hangout place students usually go is dhanbad which is around 20 KM from college rest there is no such place to chill.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the course curriculum decent because it cover the basic engineering concepts that made me choose this course and it prepare us okay for real-world or higher study, but still more practical work and updated teaching method needed, and exams come mostly every semester with some internals which are moderate tough but manageable with regular study. There are some teachers who teach very well and have good teaching methods.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course curriculum is okay and the basics are covered well, which is one reason I choose this branch, but some subjects feel outdated and not fully connected to real industry work. It prepare us for further studies more than practical jobs. Exams come every semester with internals in between, difficulty is moderate but few papers become tricky. I think more practical topics, updated labs and better teaching methods will make the curriculum more useful...

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

One of my colleges best features is its placements program, which offers fantastic chances for students to launch their carrers. In the fifth and sixth semesters, students are prepared with aptitude training sessions, group discussions, and resume construction. About 85% of qualified pupils were placed during the previoes school year. Compared to core engieering fields, placements rates were marginally higher in IT branches.
