- NIFFT is one of the oldest institutes providing manufacturing courses and has the best and finest laboratory facilities in metallurgy and materials such as Sand Lab, Metallographic Lab, FMS Lab, Non-Destructive and Mechanical Testing Lab, Spectroscopy, etc.
- I received an internship opportunity from Ramakrishna Forging Ltd, which was offered to the top 15 students as well as all the other students.
- The placement is very good; every year, students take part in interviews with many companies like Forge and Foundry Company.
Dislikes
- Badminton is played by some students inside the hostel, and there is also a gymkhana here. However, it is not open at any time due to its bad condition.
- In our college, the faculty is very helpful for the students. However, the mess and food system and quality here are poor. Many students complain every time, but no actions are taken, so the mess is very bad.

About NIAMT
National Institute Of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (NIAMT) was established in 1966 under the UNDP program. NIAMT ranks 148th best college in the Engineering colleges in NIRF 2020. Every year, the institute admits 120 students to its Undergraduate course and 116 students to the Postgraduate course. The Institute provides technical education through B.Tech., M.Tech., and Ph.D. courses. It also conducts Advanced Diploma courses in Foundry and Forge Technology.
In the past 3 years, the institute has recorded near to 100% placement through campus interviews for graduating students. While 30% of postgraduate students get placed. NIAMT Ranchi Scholarship
National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology collaborates with the government to provide numerous scholarships to the students. In the year 2019-20, 198 admitted students have received full tuition fee reimbursement.
Following are some of the scholarships that are being given to the students:
- Ministry of Steel Scholarship: INR 4,000 to 5,000 per student from the first year to final year on the basis of JEE Mains merit rank. This scholarship is given to the top 5 students taking admission to the MME course.
- GATE Scholarship: All students taking admission to M.Tech courses on the basis of the GATE score receive a monthly scholarship of INR 12,400 every month during the tenure of their course.
- Ph.D. Scholarship: All students are given a stipend of INR 25,000 per month.

NIAMT Ranchi Facilities
The college has created multiple facilities to aid the students to excel in their education and career. Some of the facilities at the campus of the National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology are mentioned below:
- Centralized Computer Center: The computer center lab has 120 desktop computers liaised with all modern software and technology requisite for un-interrupted learning for the students. The campus has its own ISP facility.
- Hostels: The college has 4 boys hostels and 1 girls hostel. The hostels have single, double, and triple occupancy rooms with 850+ seating capacity for boys and 100 for girls. All hostels have 24 hours of electricity and back up, drinking water facility, good housekeeping, and a common room with TV and DTH connection. The hostel also provides mess, health and sports facilities, and security.
- Student gymkhana: The students’ gymkhana is the student’s representative body. It is responsible to arrange technical programs, cultural activities, and bring up any grievances. It arranges various clubs for Arts, Cricket, Football, and arranges various activities like the NIAMT Premier league.

I applied for NIT JSR , NIT Patna, BIT Mesra, IIIT Ranchi, some GFTIs and Obviously NIAMT Ranchi in JOSAA. I prefered NIAMT over other GFTIs becuase of its palcements, also i was unable to find any major negative point about this college. Admission to NIAMT is from JOSAA and CSAB based on your All India Rank in JEE Mains as of 2024 closing rank in JOSAA last round for CSE is 50,906 and for CSAB last round is 91,147 Overall Admission process of NIAMT is very smooth, it takes hardly 2 hours.

I chose this college due to my interest in core branches. I have a lot of research interest in core branches. This is one of the best colleges for Metallurgy and Materials Engineering. Placement of this college is also very good.

This was the college I got the confirmation letter. I got selected for this from CSAB round -2 JEE mains examination. The admission in this college is only based on JEE marks. No other lateral entry is allowed.

- I liked the environment of the college. The greenary all around and the eco-friendly environment is far better than any other metropolitan cities air.
- The placement of the college is 100% , which is good for any other B.Tech student in any college.

This college admission process is done by JEE Main percentile or rank. There were several other college that I wanted to opt but due to less percentile, I couldn't make it. This was the the college I got the confirmation admission letter. This college stands out as this college is one of the oldest college in the ASIA which trains student Foundry and Forging skills. This college placement overpassed most of the NITs. Being the core branch college, it is one of the best college in India with the best core course . The cutoff rank of this college is upto approximately 2Lakh . The exam for the admission into this college is JEE Main.

To get into our college you need to go through the jee mains exam, last year the cutoff for computer engineering was about 86000, the jee mains exams form costs 900 rs , It is held 2 times. after that, you have to go through counselling rounds in josaa and csab(for remaining seats).

Simply one can take admission in this college on the basis of their JEE Mains score and student must have PCM (WITH 60% minimum marks) in their intermediate. After getting a seat in this college through JOSSA or CSAB a physical verification is done in the college where document verification is done. Cut-off for this college is as follows: for general category students minimum of 90 percentile is required in JEE Mains and for obc/gen-ews 85 to 86 percentile is required. For st/sc category minimum 80 percentile is required.

Admission process is through JEE MAINS scorecard you need approx 95 percentile for general category to get admission in this college through JOSAA or CSAB counselling after JEE ADVANCED exam. There is 50 percent seat reservation for females.Exam is conducted every year twice and best of two is considered as final score.
