Likes

The fee structure and our teachers are very friendly
The campus is quite nice with fooding and location of the college is also very prominent
The events and the social is also very awesome you'll get the enjoyment

Dislikes

Attendance criteria is very strict and rigid
The teachers sometimes don't come absent classes wastage of travelling
Tiring experience after a whole day of college

Course Curriculum Overview

Very outdated syllabus and not very relevant to today's world. Sometimes you would feel detached from the current job market and lack from other universities. Other universities are way ahead and we are still with out old syllabus

Internships Opportunities

College provides internship from different banks and other financial institutions or tax firms. College have good tie-up with alot of firms so here enough practical experience you'll get but you need to have own efforts to learn.

Placement Experience

Every year placement do occur. Some company comes and you need minimum 7.5 cgpa to apply for the placements here. You'll get a package of 5-8 lacs pa and i think for a bcom graduate it's quite enough after college.

Fees and Financial Aid

My college is the most affordable college in whole of West Bengal. Fees is very nominal with only 780 per semester. In that price our facilities are quite more than enough and the name you get with this college is very awesome

Campus Life

The fees we pay and after our college events is really amazing. Every year our events occur like college social and fests so it's quite enjoyable in the college and enjoy it too. But don't expect like Bollywood

Admission

I beleive this is the best option in Kolkata. Most of the colleges in Kolkata are way behind than other. Except the autonomous ones like St. Xavier's. So bcom from goenka is good as it is so affordable of the fees.

Faculty

The faculty here is not enough. In our routine rather than having 4 classes there is only 2 classes per day and sometimes that also don't occur. Teacher reluctant and would not corporate. Self study is the key

Night Life

Our college is in North Calcutta so at night the place is very deserted so after 9 or 10, it's full deserted. College in south kolkata is way better night life but here it's quite traditional and night life is deserted.

I am planning for an MBA which wasn't confirmed and a Bachelorette of commerce is a basic degree one must obtain plus I am also looking out to be a ca so I felt B.Com is the best option I can choose. The placement percentage of the college is around 94%. The average salary package offered for freshers is 1.5 LPA. St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata: Better than the Best.

Placement Experience:

The placement percentage of our college is quite high around 50%. The lowest salary offered is Rs. 1.2 lakhs per annum and the highest salary offered is Rs. 6 lakhs per annum. The average salary offered is Rs. 3 lakhs per annum. According to my opinion, the average salary is decent but it should be better. NGOs should come and give internships to the students.

Remarks:

It is a prestigious college to pursue a bachelor's in commerce. The college is well known all throughout the state and India for its able faculty and discipline. It is among one of the best colleges in the nation and has a decent environment which is somewhat conducive for studies so it was a perfect option for me as I could easily cope up with the curriculum along with the studies for my Chartered Accountancy exams. The infrastructure is reminiscent of old architecture but the college packs in all spaces for sports, education and recreation.

Remarks:

College Infrastructure. The college is highly facilitated. Each and every class out there has AC, Projectors and some may even have smart boards. The library has ample books and the issuance is convenient. There are department wise laboratories as well and all the equipments are available. WiFi is there. The canteen provides tasty snacks and food. Academics I am studying B. com here because I wanted to have an acumen for the commerce as a subject. The quality of teaching was good but the main problem is that half of the classes get cancelled due to mass bunk. Students barely attend the college here because they are busy with their professional courses. The college comes under Calcutta University.

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka.
