Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure is extremely relevant and comprehensive. The teaching methods reflect the need to focus on an analytical approach rather than a rote learning approach. Frequent student led seminars and presentations also help consolidate whhatever has been taught.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship Opportunities are available all year round. Opportunities by famous B Schools (IIM Sponsored projects), HR Upskilling projects, etc are always available for students. The internships are both paid and unpaid, both of them offering students the opportunity to learn and build a strong CV.

Placement Experience

5

The college offers extremely good placement opportunities with top recruiters such as Delloite, PWC, Ernst and Young, Goldman Sachs, and other MNCs such as Amazon also come for placements each year. Almost 100% of the students get placed each year. The college has a dedicated placement cell working 24x7 to ensure a smooth placement process as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

St Xaviers College, popularly known for its extensive corporate exposure, provides a very student friendly experience all around. The fees which ranges from around 3-4 lakhs(inclusive of all) for the entire course, is payable in easy installments (two per semester), and thus helps students to easily manage the payments. SXC offers financial aid to students truly requiring it, especially those whose family income stands at less than 12LPA, and over the duration of the course intimates about external scholarships available for worthy students to avail admission. One such Scholarship is the Reliance Foundation Scholarship, which covers 80% of the total fees.

Campus Life

5

The overall campus life is extremely happening and fun. There are numerous societies a student can be part of, from theatrics to debate, there's the whole spectrum. The college focuses extensively on extracurricular activities as well alongside academics. There are events happening every other day and students here are extremely good at balancing college life with studies.

Admission

While applying to, I'd applied for other colleges in the city namely Goenka College of Commerce and Christ University. Having gotten selected into both I've chosen SXC for two reasons - One, the brand value. The tag of being a Xaverian comes with a lot of privilege, the topmost being the exposure this college provides. It prepares students for the corporate life than none other and also has a competent teaching policy for students which allow them real industrial knowledge and skills. Two, SXC students have a passion in them to be better and do better. The college comprises individuals who have an impeccable understanding of their field of study and work, so it is basically learning among the bests of the city.

Faculty

5

The faculty at SXC is truly great, all of them are extremely approachable and ready to help at all times. They can be contacted via mails and even through LMS portals. SXC has two exams per semester, the mid sems and the end sems and have an extensive breakdown for the 100 marks for the total score, which includes assignments, mid sems, end sems and a separate tab for attendance as well. More than 90% of the students clear the exams easily each term, as the questions reflect the material taught during lectures.

Night Life

5

The nightlife around the campus is solid as the college is literally located in Park Street, the heart of the city. There are many famous hangout places within a 5 metre radius around the college and students make full use of them. It is also safe to roam around at night as police patrolling takes place at all hours. The college life at SXC is even more fun because of the location of the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

• The specific aspects of the curriculum are the subjects including in this course are related to the industry that will help students to build their career in this competitive world and I choose the course as I wanted to pursue a professional course after graduation. • The curriculum prepares us pretty well for real world applications as there are subjects like management that helps students to understand things very clearly and apply it in the real world. • The frequency and timing of exams is perfect and my perspective on the difficulty level is that the exams are not at all difficult.

The course curriculum is obviously outdated and the knowledge we get through it, is bookish and does not apply to present industry methods. This way we are given no exposure to the real life industry knowledge. The exams are held on semester basis after every 6 months and are easy and manageable.
