Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum of the Computer Science Department is regularly updated and quite up to date and relevant according to the current trends. Exams are frequent and vary in difficulty. The course material provided is quite helpful,

Placement Experience

The placement scenario is good, has been affected due to the recession, but is still quite good. Many companies visit the college, and the average placement of the Computer Science programme was about 12-15 lakhs per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

I will be paying around 6 lakh rupees per year. There are scholarships based on Merit basis and also based on Merit cum needs basis, i.e, based on the annual family income of the student. The scholarship is hard to obtain and requires a high CGPA.

Campus Life

The campus life is good, with many fests like Saturnalia and Oorja happening and many other events making the campus life fun. There are a lot of clubs which you can join, and many sport facilities and extracurricular activities also occur regulary.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility is quite good, with a good quality table and AC room. The mess facility is is also satisfactory. You have options of Single. 2 sharing and 4 sharing options for your rooms. The rooms are well maintained.

Hostel Fee: INR 84200 per year

Admission

I applied to different government colleges but could not get the Computer Science programme, so did not choose them. I also applied to BITS but did not choose it because I was getting a five year dual degree programme.

Faculty

Most faculties in the Computer Science and Engineering Department are quite approacheble and helpful. They are passionate proggramers who love to teach students. But many professors are quite arrogant and unapproachable.

Night Life

The night life for 1st year students is limited to the hostel with intime of 8:30 PM, but it has night canteen and another canteen which provide snacks and food at night. There are a lot of hangout spots inside the campus like Nirvana.

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good and cover every aspects of learning and skills needed in today's time but it feels the semester get over to fast in around 3.5 months with 3 exams and lab exam. They should provide the real learning based on a student interest some student are good in coding but they lack to communicate better, they should focus on that part also as they also do in many cases by giving subjects like soft skills and communication skills every sem.The teacher should not be reading the ppt only . We can do that also why we are paying that much fees just to learn from a teacher who is just reading the slides.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i would rate the course curriculum as largely relevant and fairly comprehensive,. one of the main reasons i chose this course was the balance between conceptual foundations and practical exposure. the curricuum supports future academic growth since many of the modules introduce us to advance topics early, making it easier to explore research. some topics feel slightly outdated and could be aligned better with the current industry skills and technologies. the exam schedule is manageable, though sometimes multiple assessments happen in the same week or same day, ehich adds pressure . Spacing out evaluations a bit more and giving clearer rubrics could improve the overall experience

Honest is the best Policy

I was getting addmission in some other private colleges but this was near to me and had a great rew.. Its infra and hostels are really worth it.
