Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is interesting and includes major portions of my discipline. The subjects are informative and also gives you practical learning through projects and field experience. The curriculum can also be more systematic and inclusive of other topics. The frequency of exams and their difficulty are manageable. Exams are only taken once and then semester exams.

Internships Opportunities

4

College does give internship opportunities but it's only active in some courses like bcom. Many placement offers and internship opportunities are provided by the college in top companies like Bajaj in some courses. The professors may also recommend a student for the internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees is almost 20000. Everything is included in this. Apart from this exam fees is taken which is of approximately 1400- 1700 in range. For other categories like pwd the fees is very low. The scholarships and other opportunities are not given from University.

Campus Life

4

The college organises a cultural fest at the end of the year and also departmental fest which runs after the cultural fest 'Yuvaan'. The college also hold cultural programmes, events, international symposiums, lectures and other informative events. The library is well equipped with books and is accessible. The sports and ECA sector is also very active. The college societies keep participating in competitions and sports events are also organised.

Admission

I chose this College due to transportation and distance issues. I had other plans. I scored nice score of 700 in cuet but the distance and the time was the major issue. The college gives admission through cuet to students. The cut offs are 650 score onwards. The admission process is very smooth and hazel free

Faculty

4

The faculties are approachable. They are ready to help and are very supportive. The admin office and teaching faculties are good. The exams are application based mostly and requires you to have a good knowledge on a certain topic. But they are also easy to pass.

Night Life

4

The college has gym which is free and can be accessed easily. The cafeteria has good food and variety is offered. The library is well maintained and full with a lot of books. The hostel is only for girls. The college opens from 9 am and closes at 5 pm. There are many eateries and stalls near college. The locality is not that safe though at night.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is functional and active. The chances depend on the course that you have opted for. The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.

Journalism was first introduced in Delhi University at DCAC. The amazing faculty and a proper media studio makes Delhi College of Arts and Commerce a perfect choice for Jouranlism aspirants. The media studio has professional mics, green screen, cameras, teleprompter, switcher and other equipment required for real life learning. The classes are full-fledged, sometimes irregular. Exams are scheduled at the end of each semester. However, internal and continous assesment happen regularly.

The placement is fine in college. It is not a bulk campus placement like in most of the engineering colleges but it is pretty decent. The one who is smart and confident enough gets it. Companies provide a decent pakage to the ones who get placed.
