Course Curriculum Overview

4

My proggramme is very interesting and is practical based. We also go on field visits to gain practical knowledge. This is also the only college in DU which has its own studio. Teaching can be made more advanced with interactive sessions. Exams are at the end of every semester and tgere are 2 semesters per year. The difficulty is moderate to hard

Internships Opportunities

4

The companies like Amar Ujala, Swadesh 24x7, political bazaar, PCI, etc come to provide internship, the roles offered are reporter, content creator, research executive, etc. The job is minimal, just to gain some experience and the perk is that you also get 10k-30k as stipend during the internship period.

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible from 4th year to sit in placements. Famous companies like NDTV, News 24 , India today, ABVP,etc comes for placement. Highest package was 1200000 per annum and 300000 per annum is average package. Profiles offered are reporter, research executives, content creator, anchor, field reporter, etc I will go for anchoring after completing the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of first year is 79600 in which 10000 is refundable and then it is 69600 for the next 4 years. This includes tution fees, caution fees, admission fees, etc. Other than this you only need to pay examination fees every semester. The fees is same for everyone except for PWD category, their fees is 10000 per year. The scholarship provided by Delhi University can be availed in this college for the students who need financial aid.

Campus Life

4

This is the only thing I don't like in DsJ, THERE IS NO FEST. There are few books available in the library. You can go to central library for more access. There is Ac, projector, chairs, table, white board, fans and lights in the classroom. There are activities organised by societies in college, students can also represent DSJ in sports. There are societies like dance society, sports society, etc.

Admission

I have also applied in Daulat Ram College but I didn't qualify for admission then I took admission in this college. The examination process is simple first appear in Cuet exam, then register in DU CSAS portal, select your preferred colleges and you are done. Generally scoring 150/200 makes it.

Faculty

4

There are 600 students and around 20+ faculties. Teachers here are very helpful here, they are also experienced and knowledgeable. The best teachers are Garima Mam and Sumit Sir as they don't only teach about syllabus, they also guve practical knowledge. The faculty I did not like is Mithilesh Sir as he is rude. There are exams at the end of every semester and each semester is of 6 months. Approximately 80% students pass the exam with good marks and those who have a back can clear it next semester.

Night Life

5

Our college is in University Stadium so there is gym in our college. And the fees is very affordable. There is no cafeteria and no hostel till now as this is just a department. As this is in north campus, you can explore, sudama ki chai nearby, also Majnu ka tila is 1.8 km from this college. Students also roam around the campus at night, it is absolutely safe.

Other Applied Colleges

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is functional and active. The chances depend on the course that you have opted for. The placements are really good for commerce, economics, Maths, Stats but for the other department's students it might be a bit challenging to find a company of their domain. The students become eligible to sit in placement from 5th semester. The companies that visit my college are Godrej, BCG, McKinsey, Nation with Namo, Blackstone, Accenture, KPMG, EY, citibank, microsoft and Amazon etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Journalism was first introduced in Delhi University at DCAC. The amazing faculty and a proper media studio makes Delhi College of Arts and Commerce a perfect choice for Jouranlism aspirants. The media studio has professional mics, green screen, cameras, teleprompter, switcher and other equipment required for real life learning. The classes are full-fledged, sometimes irregular. Exams are scheduled at the end of each semester. However, internal and continous assesment happen regularly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate my course four out of five because in journalism is a field where people are not about so much. The main stream media does not show the real problems and challengs of the country. They live in a bubble of their own. Many of the times they provide miss information to the people which hurts the hearts of the people. They do not cover multiple aspects of media. The exams in the daj is not so hard you can easily pass it by just 4 to 5 days of preparation.

The placement is fine in college. It is not a bulk campus placement like in most of the engineering colleges but it is pretty decent. The one who is smart and confident enough gets it. Companies provide a decent pakage to the ones who get placed.
