Course Curriculum Overview
The course is really varried, carrying all the aspects of journalism - from print, broadcast to digital. Moreover, the new syllabus under NEP 2020 offers a variety of courses, making the curriculum interesting.
Internships Opportunities
Companies or organisations which came to offer internship to us were - Press Council of India, Office of the Vice Chancellor of DU, Zee Media and a few more. However, it lacked internship opportunities from mainstream media.
Placement Experience
The college has really more to do with its placement cell because students are not getting opportunities as they expect. The companies which come for placement drive are from limited domains and they also offer very normal package.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course has an annual fee of around 70,000 including other fees. If you pursue for entire 5 years, then it will cost you around 3.5 lakh. You can apply for several state-owned scholarships which are valid in recognised institutions. You can also avail the special fee concession given by the Delhi University for students from weaker economic sections.
Campus Life
The college is situated in the university's Rugby Stadium. However, the campus is aesthetic and it is situated at a walking distance from the Vishwavidyalaya Metro Station (Yellow Line). Other colleges like SOL and Miranda House are at nearby locations.
Admission
The best thing about this college is that it offers an Integrated course in journalism, with three years for Bachelor and two years for Master. With this, you dont need to worry about looking for a different college in post graduation.
Faculty
Faculty members are great, but they are from media field only and they hold good experience in the media industry. They are friendly and also try their best to connect the syllabus with practical examples.
Night Life
Places like Kamala Nagar, Vijay Nagar, Old Gupta Colony are nearby where you can look for stay. In the north campus, you can explore Pandit Ji Ki Canteen, Sudama Tea stall, Tom Uncle ki Maggi and Dolma Aunty ke Momos. Majnu Ka Tila is also nearby.
