Course Curriculum Overview

4

The computer engineering cousrse offers comprehensive and industry relevant curriculum which is key factot in my decis To enroll. The curriculum covers essential subjects like data structure, algorithms and fields like AI and cybersecurity balancing theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Real world preparation through project based learning and coding labs and internships opportunities curriculum equips students with skills for industrial work and advanced studies making it ideal for career readiness and academic pursuits. Suggested improvements are soft skills including introducing modules for communication and network enhance career prepeeation and increased industry exposure, broader elective choices and updated teaching methods

Internships Opportunities

3

The internships this year ate given by the jp morgan and chase , BNY, Barclays, even some of the students got internships in google, salesforce and many more companies gave internships this year and still the companies are visiting

Placement Experience

4

In third year their are summer internships opportunities and in 4th years the placements for stude Get started. There is a chance of getting placed in 3rd year but a rare more a summer internship is expected where as in 4th year that is in 7th semester students get their placements on campus as no of good companies start visiting the campus and the placement rated are really good and even increasing. The highest package last year that is 2023 was of approximately INR 55.75 lakh per annum while average package was around INR 11.9 Lakh per annum. The average varies slightle from 13-15 LPA. The university's placement rate consistently remains high typically around 90 percent each year. Top recruiting companies include microsoft, apple, jp morgan chase, amazon, flipkart, providing roles in software development, data analysis and consulting and more.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee I paid is approximately 2,41,900 in 1st semester , 2,18,900 in 2nd sem, 2,38,600 in 3rd sem, 2,38,600 in 4th sem and 5th sem it is 2,60,100 and the following semsester approximately the same followed by approximately 60,000 of hostel and 22,000 of mess every semester. About the scholarship in 1st year it is on the merit basis of jee and the rest of the years for students scoring 9 cgpa or above 9.5 and 1st year many other like only girl child, army children and many more. Its almost same for all the branches but this is specifically for computer engineering, for electrical branches it is a little less than this where as for computer science branch and computer business it is expensive than this.

Campus Life

4

Yes its really very good there are a number of clubs and societies for managing the social life and for extra curricular activities. These societies include tech and non tech activities the famous societies invlude ccs, fine arts, edc tiet, pws, virsa, mudra, econ, and many more and apart from this main techno cultural fest saturnalia and one thapar food festival help every year with famous artists

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are too good with air conditioners and gysers fulfilling the summer and winter requirements at the same time and the mess area is too big and good the menu is really good hut the taste is good but not like home but sometimes really good. There are different hostels for different years and all are not same vary according to year and fee structures

Admission

I chose Thapar University over other colleges due to its strong academic reputation and practical focused curriculum and industry oriented approach in computer engineering. It offers well balanced curriculum that includes foundational courses and emerging fields like AI and machine learning along with hands on projects this focus on practical learning stood out compared to other colleges. It provides strong internships and project opportunities . It had modern kabs and high tech classrooms and well equipped infrastructure with extra curriculur activities and fests every year. The eligibility is a minimum percenin 10+2 with physics chemistry and mathematics. Exams accepted are jee mains which is the most preferred for admission in Thapar University cutoffs vary from programme to programme

Faculty

4

The faculty is very approachable for the students we can go and discuss anything even in class or their office. Very friendly and helpful even after the mid term exams we need to fill the srs form for reviewing teachers who taught us and mentor menty program assigning 15 to 20 students to 1 teacher who didn't even teach us so that we can discuss any problem with them at any time. Exams are divided in different types quiz, lab evaluation, mid term and end term. The marks in total gives us the grade for different subjects based on the average fot every subject. The cgpa is calculated according to the credits of each course

Night Life

4

The infrastructure of college is very beautiful and the main attraction is library of university where the motivation of studying is at its peak and every student likes to sit there. Group discussions rooms and self study areas are also there apart from this the differe Blocks have different infrastructure and every block has a food area and the campus has its grounds for different sports and athletics and swimming pool. The students are not allowed to go out of the hostel after 8:30 its only allowed near the fest timed that timings are extended and for the team members. The in timings of college main gate are 8:00

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
