Likes
- I liked that studies are taken seriously and that no teacher deliberately misses any class. If somehow class is missed that provide us extra class.
- I like how cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in the bathroom and inside the college building there is individual dustbins too. I liked that there is ac in most of the rooms and why not afterall they too receive a large sum of money
- I liked the library but I wished it was more big and i expected it to be since the college has too much fame.
Dislikes
- some people thinks so high of themselves here,it's become difficult to approach them one should behave more humble and there exist people who can make even simple things difficult don't know why but some teacher exists who're genuine and cares
- I disliked the canteen but maybe most people like that,the reason is the canteen is very small for this much people and morever it's unnecessarily costly
- Some students after entering college engages in relationships and even do stuffs which may ruin the college image. They shouldn't disclose everything in public but some people don't have shame.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose because I liked chemistry and morever I need a bachelor's degree that's why. Improvement is need for practicals as we do the practicals mostly by ourselves but sometimes they announce sudden CIA which makes thing difficult cause practical needs good amount of experience and time and we only get 1 day a week for practical.
Internships Opportunities
Seniors will know best about internship opportunities. We've heard that it's very good for the Bcom department. For bsc we've heard that students get opportunity in iiser to intern in. There is also placement cell in our college which works for it. There is facility of Cyber cell too.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for Bsc Chemistry was supposed to be Rs-71,000 for 1 year but this year when I've checked the few structure it increased a little . The first installment fees of first sem is Rs-35,500 and 2nd installment fees Rs-12,500 and there left payment for 2nd sem too which we have to pay in two parts. So, overall it's very costly for a simple bsc degree and also the fees increased a little. One thing is good that studies are taken seriously and there is hygiene and cleanliness is bathroom. Other than that it's just like any other college.
Campus Life
The annual festival is Xavotsav. The overall experience in society clubs is very good especially Cultural clubs like Bengali Literary Society (BLS) and XADAM. The library is good but wished it was bigger with more diverse range of books. There is projectors and AC in most of the rooms. Students has too many clubs to participate here sports club is also prominent. There are also Social Clubs like NSS and NCC.
Admission
Since nta this year made blunder mistake I had no other options so I got admission here since it was based on boards. After nta announced results it was too late to shift college cause I'm already settled here. Here board marks are given priority and admission is based one that.
Faculty
In one semester there is one mid semester exam and one final exam. The marks depends from subject to subject and some marks are also given base on attendance (which is quite ridiculous i think) upto 75% mandatory attendance is okay but what is this? The mid sem exam are quite good , mostly questions comes from notes but final needs some grinding. Teachers are all experienced and many hold phds. Some are quite good but a few can make life tough just by making simple things confusing Lol XD. So I can say some are born to be prodigies but sorry not teacher. Overall experience is moderate.
