Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

As for the starters, economics hons is one of the most demanded courses in Delhi University due to its applications and placements. Also , the course is heavily maths oriented which means that consistent study is the key to master the program.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for this course depends on the college in which you are studying. The overall fee ranges is between 15k to 50k for economics hons in Delhi University. For Gargi College, the initial fees was 15,000 and it gradually increases every year by 2-3000. Students are provided with the facility to avail scholarships within the college premises only.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is quite vibrant at the college as something or the other always goes on. During the festive season the student council organises fun activities to help the students feel content. Moreover the college as a lot of societies which have their own events throughout the year.

Admission

Best colleges for economics hons are LSR, SRCC and St Stephen's. The other best include Venky, JMC, Gargi and KMC. Getting into economics hons itself is a huge challenge due to the course's popularity. The reason I choose gargi is purely due to the distance as travelling everyday is a mammoth task

Faculty

3.5

As for the student faculty ratio of the college, it's 60:1 which is the case for almost all the courses through the Delhi University. But as far the faculty is concerned, the college as a great faculty as they themselves have been in the top institutes of the country which explains their in depth knowledge of their subjects

Highest package offered was around 23LPA and the average package was around 6LPA. The profiles that they offered was for accountants, career analyst, HR etc. People who got placement had decent percentages. They were higjly active in department and college activities and have done good internships too. After completing this degree I would want to get into Law.
