Course Curriculum Overview

3

It was my personal interest to take Philosophy as a subject. But to be very honest, apart from one teacher, the other are not eligible to teach Philosophy. Everyone can give Philosophy of his/her own, but we don't actually need to be taught about that. 2 exams per year.

Placement Experience

2.5

Students usually come in University of Delhi to give some Government exam. Placements are available from 2nd year onwards. I've heard that the maximum package of the college was 35 lakh, and that average is around 3 lakh. Not all students get package, and not all really want a package.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

For the first year, the yearly fees was 14000 INR. The fees is paid on yearly basis, and not semester wise. Additionally, there is examination fee, which is paid semester wise. For the second year, the fees was reduced by 2000 INR. But for the third year, no deductions were given.

Campus Life

4

Priyadarshini is the annual fest of Dyal Singh College. There're many societies in the college's campus. One or the other keeps on organizing some seminar or debate or some drive. The playground is big, with separate football, basketball, Volleyball, cricket pitch, and badminton courts.

Admission

I chose this college primarily because of the fact that this course was one of my preferred course, and that my CUET score wasn't enough to get me to the North Campus. I would have really appreciated if my professors were good. But anyhow, i still enjoy Philosophy.

Faculty

3.5

The teachers are friendly and approachable. They help out with almost everything. They guide everyone equally. Although sometimes the optional courses they teach are not known by them fully, but they try to teach in the best way possible. For the 1st and 2nd years, there are 7 exams (3 core and 4 optional) and for the 3rd year, there are 6 exams( 3 core, 1 DSE and 2 optional) . Although the courses somehow are a soure of extra knowledge, but the teachers also need to be aware of the subjects they're teaching.

Yes people get intership at the end of graduation as there were many companies who came to provide internship to student . But for my course this never works because we cannot get any good job by doing B.a as its only theory.

I didn't give many miscellaneous exams but BMS. Although, I did try really hard to get in through ECA trials in music. English was always my passion, but so was music, which is why I yearned for North Campus. I started off by taking admission in Motilal Nehru College. From then in the next list, I jumped to ARSD, and finally in the very unexpected 8th cut-off list, I got DCAC. That was the best decision ever.
