Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I am very keen interested in history that's why I chose this course. History teaches us not to delve into the mistakes of the past, and learn from other's mistakes and apply the lessons to our own life. I feel we should have field visits or excursions. We have our mid semester exams and our end semester exams with average difficulty level.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

I didn't really apply to any internship but there are companies like Ipsos, Maach, Kendle etc. offering internship to the students in the college. There are numerous projects that are held through the companies.

Placement Experience

2

Second year. I didn't apply for any placement as I'm from history background. Highest i guess is 12 lakhs, average is 5 lakhs. 38% of students get placementds from the college. I'd opt for masters in the same course.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly as a history honours student I need to pay around Rs.20,000. Other fees include examination fees per semester that rounds off to around Rs.2000 per semester. There are benefits of scholarships for the people with an income of less than 1 lakh per year.

Campus Life

3

Annual festival is called Shruti held in March -April. There are almost every book available in the college library. We have smart boards in the classrooms. Many sports such as cricket, football, basketball etc. are played. We have different societies.

Admission

I applied to Banaras Hindu University, JNU and other colleges of DU. I got into all three but choose DU. I made it to other colleges but chose DU because of my course. The eligibility is 12th pass, CUET examination is accepted in the admission process, and cutoffs vary every year.

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:2. The faculties are very approachable and always there to help. The relationship with the faculty with that of the students is also very good. The best faculties are present in our history department. Dr. Pragati Mohapatra. Other one from English department, Meghna Ma'am. I don't like Anisha Kaul from English department because she is someone who isn't there for her students when they need you the most, she's a bit arrogant.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

There's a very active placement cell in my college. They conduct placement drives, webinars and workshops. Both the jobs and internships are offered. The best package was of 2024 offering 23 Lpa and the average is around 6 Lpa.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. The exam notes and everything is available at the photocopy shop that's inside the college. Writing this review really made me miss the college more

Placements definitely stands out as passive placement cell of the college is too good. They are quite aggressive and keep attacking us with getting ready for placements. As top corporate house like Big 4 and top Indian conglomerate also comes to our college for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Initially i took this course beacuse i filled it as a backup for coming into delhi university but now i can say that the course is very interesting and it is practically applicable in daily life. Tho the theory exams are quite difficult and subjects like advance mme where max students fail exist but then also it is doable and has market value

Placement Experience:

The college has a placement cell which comes up with lots and lots of internship and job offers throughout the year, you get multiple new job opportunities every week but the campus placement is not all that great, B Com courses have somewhat decent placements. the college doesn't push very much or try much to get students placed, you're on your own.

Placement Experience:

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.
