M.Sc in Anthropology

The course is about the study of man's past,present and future. So it helps to understand how the modern human and their culture evolved over time. Their are three subfield available and these are Biological, social and cultural , archaeological anthropology. The most important things is feildwork research. The subject is very interesting. Its have reallife applications in the fields of resherch,public health,social impact assessment,genetic counseling and much more. The teaching methood is quite easy and its also helps to get a job in goverment sector.

After completeing third semester, we got the internship opportunity under Anthropological survey of India in their Dna laboratory for 15 days. The project is on about detection of diseases gene. Although Its was unpaid internship but we came to know many lots of new things about the instruments and chamicals which are required for the project. After sucessfull Completition we get the certificates.

The fee structure is average. In addmission time you have to pay 5000 rupees and in every semester you.you have to pay 4000 rupees. Their are swami Vivekananda merit cums means scholarships (60000 for pursuing M.sc degree) available if you have the percentage of marks required for that scholar ship. Their was aslo student credit.card scheme available.

There was a annual festivals called Dhun where you enjoy a lot beacause their was many cultural program and competitive games. The college library is wide, there were many books related to your subjects. There was also books available for competitive exams. In march, annual sports is taken place.

For eligibility you have to complete the. BSc degree in anthropology and secure atleast 60 percentage then eligible to fill the application. The appication form is available on their official website. The admission is fully merit-based. Their were also reservation benefits for Sc and St. The college also follow the exam calender of west bengal state university. The exam is easy if studied well from the starting of the semester, you have 5 months approx to complete the full chapters in your semester exam.

The faculty members are well educated. Each and everyone who are teaching us are associated proffesors. When the students have to choose their specialization paper for final semester, they help us and also guided us.
