Likes

Our hod is very friendly and good teacher, she is very understanding and loves all the students.
Teacher are well educated and have good knowledge regarding the course
The campus is small but it is beautiful ❤️

Dislikes

Snu doesn't have specific classroom for department
College hours is too lengthy, from 8am to 4.40pm
The sit for our department was 60, but this yr 120 students took admission,

Some teachers read out the ppt, First 1/2months teachers taught us very slowly but within one month they complete the whole syllabus before exam, and took assignment, viva, assessment, ppt at that time only, Teachers are good though they give decent marks according to what we write.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 112500 per year

Internships Opportunities

As we are in master's 1 year, we did not get any internship for now But from 3rd sem we can get internships And research project we have to do by ourselves under supervision And there is no placement available for our course

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship availability is good As I recieved 100% scholarship so it reduced a huge amount of my fees and I'm so grateful and it helped me a lot, though I recieved it because of my marks in bachelor..

Campus Life

Too be very honest, there are two libraries but not too much Books... Classrooms are not but not enough classes are there ... There are festivals held in the college but only departmental.... There are clubs but do not about their availability

Admission

There is reservation available so don't worry about that If you have a course in psychology in ur bachelor you are eligible, The admission process is actually too lengthy It will take 2/3 days ..you have to come to the office twice

As there are too many students, in 1st semester we didnot have sits too sit, the class was full and there was no place to sit, teachers couldn't give attention too all the students we had too much problem regarding that

Placement Experience:

Actually this is a general degree University , so I must mention that placement facalities are not so good. But yes , Job Fair is organised in University by some external agencies which offer jobs varying 2-2.5 lakhs per annum . But in the university most of the students do not accept that jobs. Half of the students are more interested on the higher studies. So ahet completing the fourth semester they prepare for PhD. And the another half are preparing for central government sponsored exams like CGL, CHSL, RRB, SBI , IBPS, LIC etc. University has a significant number of students who have qualified for Government Competitive exams.

Placement Experience:

Actually Some of the Local Companies & Private banks Offer placements which are averagely worth 250000/-. Some of the Students appear for it , but the Number is Very less. Actually In Present Circumstances , Most students wants a stable Government, Especially Central Gov job . So they Prepare for exams like SSC , SBI , IBPS, LIC , RRB etc.

Niper Kolkata: from starting to end

Placement Experience:

2nd year students are eligible for the campus placement. Sai, Hetero, mendine, dr. Reddys etc companies visities for the campus placement. Offers ranges from 5-12 lpa. 60% students gets placed, 10% goes for higher studies and others get job off campus in my department. Other departments has 100% placement. My plans are pHd from Niper as it provides vast knowledge and instrumental exposure.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My decision to choose this course depended on the fact that this course provides you with the opportunity to get various jobs in the industries with a high lpa. But this college does not help much in that aspect. All I had to do was myself. It is my humble opinion that the institution should improve its guidance in the area of its teaching methods. The exams were twice a year and were quite difficult on their own.

Insights of SNU

There are a few private colleges present in Kolkata which provides biotechnology but in my opinion the labs of those colleges are not as well furnished as ours. There curriculum is little different than ours. I didn't apply to any other colleges apart from Snu for biotechnology I sat for an online exam .And I cleared the test. Once you get a call you visit the college campus meet the faculty and the faculty may take a type of interview session The addmission process is smooth. But sometimes the staff members of admission makes blunder. My classes were about to start from 17 August, but they called me during July( because she didn't know that biotechnology does not fall under para- medical and made a mistake and for her mistake I had to suffer as I'm not a resident of Kolkata)...Read More
