Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course because I am very passionate about engineering so I choose this course. The faculties are very helpful. They tech you politely. Every faculties are well educated . They all are completed their studies from rebound institute.

Fees and Financial Aid

Jalpaiguri government engineering college is government college, so fees structure is very less then other private engineering colleges. You can appired for Swami Vivekananda scholarship where you will get 60000 rupees every year also you can apply other scholarship like Oasis.

Campus Life

Jalpaiguri government engineering college have the 2nd largest campus in West Bengal.afte IIT Kharagpur JGEC have biggest campus in West Bengal. In this college there are so many clubs like sports club , drama club , accting club, dance club any many more where you can improve your skills.

Hostel Facilities

Here are total five hostels in our college. 4 hostel for boys and one for girls. The quality of hostels are very good and foods of the mess is also good . You have to apply for the hostel from the official website of the JGEC then you got the hostel.

Hostel Fee: INR 32000 per year

Admission

You have to pass your higher secondary exam with 60 percentage then you appired for wbjee examination, if got vailed rank then you have to appired for online counseling of wbjee online application process. Yes here you have the benefits of your reservation and this college is only for domicile students of West Bengal.

Reality of Jis college of engineering

Placement Experience:

The students get eligible at 3rd year 6th sem. Though before that you can do internship or freelancing which will increase the weight of your profile. The percentage of student getting placement is around 60-70% and the average package is around 4-5lakhs per annum. The highest package got by a student previous year was around ?10lakhs per annum.

Remarks:

Provide decent jobs to most students. Faculties are helpful and teach well. You can issue 3 books at a time from the library once your library card is made. Classes are held to enhance your communication skills. A lot of items in the canteen and cafeteria. No ragging. There is no ground to play. Very strict rules, has a lot of restrictions. Most students call it a jail, cause you cannot bunk classes. But believe me, it will shape you into a good human being and you will also get placed if you put your effort. Best of luck for your college life.

Remarks:

Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College

According to my West Bengal joint entrance examination rank I said for the counselling in the first round I got Kalyani Government Engineering College with IT department but that was with the reservation under EWS quota with rank 2869. As I was not able to get me EWS certificate my admission there was cancelled and then according to my preference I got Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College with electronic and communication engineering department.
