The lack of faculties, and lack of communication skills are the factors behind the diminishing of our college.

Course Curriculum Overview

In terms of Electronics and communication engineering, Jgec is very prosperous and excellent to be mentioned. Since it is a autonomous college, the faculty members are very helpful to students. There are two internal for one subject in one semester which is easy to pass.

Since past years,the placement is getting better and it's excellent. The best thing is that most of the students have been placed and good to say 100 percent students have been placed in offcampus and oncampus .

Fees and Financial Aid

Since it's a government college,the fees are low of cost . If anyone can't afford that fees , he /she can definitely apply for scholarship and scholarship fees are absolutely will worth it to afford the semester fees.

Campus Life

Jgec is well known for its annual cultural fest jeclat which is considered biggest cultural fest in north Bengal. Along with this, the tech fest sristi takes place every year which also needs to be mentioned.

Admission

One who wants to get admission in jgec needs to qualify West Bengal joint entrance examination with a decent rank . Then, according to the rank ,one would get particular branch in this college where several streams are opened for students.

Unbiased Review of JGEC

Placement Experience:

At JGEC,campus placements begin mostly from the 6th/final year semester,when students become eligible .I recent years many well-known companies have visited such as Pinnacle Infotech,Synnova Gears & Transmissions Pvt.Ltd,,TCS,Jyesta corporate Entity and many more.The highest package was around 54 LPA form Google ,While the overall average is 10.2LPA.Many students also take internships, industrial training or prepare for higher studies(GATE) rather than accepting direct placement immediately.The exact percentage of student getting palcement is no where.But last year the percentage placed is 70%.

Overall the placement percentage of the college is good for both the core and non-core courses almost near 90%. All the students in there 3rd year i.e. in their 5th or 6th semester are elegible for campus placements. A few companies which visit the college are TCS, WIPRO, TECH MAHINDRA, INFOSYS, IBM, COGNIZANT, HUL, HCL, INDIAN OIL, MITSUBSHI, NJ INDIA, D-POWER,ETC. all the companies offer placement. highest on-campus package = inr 33 lakh where as the average is around 6lpa. Unbiased Review of JGEC

I applied to a few other government engineering colleges but i ended up choosing JGEC.The main reasons: JGEC is a well established,fully government owned autonomous college,with good accreditation.It also has a long history since 1961,which made me trust its academic environment.Compared to other colleges i applied to ,JGEC felt more stable and credible.It also has a reasonable structure and good campus infrastructure,labs and oppurtunities for intership .There is also a good scope for higher studies like GATE.The marks vs rank went extremely high in WBJEE 2025.That's why i didn't get a college i applied for which is near my home. You can take admission by giving WBJEE and JELET only.As it is a government college you can only take admission if you get a good rank .There is also different cut-offs for diff catagory.The overall admission process is was very smooth and systematic....Read More

I did applied for the Jadavpur University but I didn't get an opportunity there . Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College

According to my West Bengal joint entrance examination rank I said for the counselling in the first round I got Kalyani Government Engineering College with IT department but that was with the reservation under EWS quota with rank 2869. As I was not able to get me EWS certificate my admission there was cancelled and then according to my preference I got Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College with electronic and communication engineering department.
