Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because currently it is in high demand in the market and it also provides more research opportunities and I am very enthusiatic to know about computer science fields and want to excel more opportunities.The faculty : student ratio is 1 : 5.All are PHd holders and they are really helpful and even in every month they conduct various seminars on different fields.We get approx 6 months between semester exams.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 16000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

No, since its a government college they fees is really minimal and atmost they wont take any fees for any other co-cirricular activities.The fees is around 8191 per semester for CSE students excluding hostel fees.Even the college provide many external scholarship opportunities and even the women have many scholarship opportunities specially.

Campus Life

The annual fest is JECLAT and annual techfest is SRISHTI and both are conducted in the months of March and September respectively.The library of college is very big and have many books which will really help in GATE and ofcourse during the semester exams.The classrooms are quiet descent.Our college have Coders club and many social clubs.

Admission

Eligibility criteria is thatb you have to pass with a score of above 40+ in WBJEE examinations conducted by WBJEEB every year in the month of April.You can get the application from in WBJEE official website and application fees is around 400 fior general students and it gets released around the month of January.

Reality of Jis college of engineering

Placement Experience:

The students get eligible at 3rd year 6th sem. Though before that you can do internship or freelancing which will increase the weight of your profile. The percentage of student getting placement is around 60-70% and the average package is around 4-5lakhs per annum. The highest package got by a student previous year was around ?10lakhs per annum.

Remarks:

Provide decent jobs to most students. Faculties are helpful and teach well. You can issue 3 books at a time from the library once your library card is made. Classes are held to enhance your communication skills. A lot of items in the canteen and cafeteria. No ragging. There is no ground to play. Very strict rules, has a lot of restrictions. Most students call it a jail, cause you cannot bunk classes. But believe me, it will shape you into a good human being and you will also get placed if you put your effort. Best of luck for your college life.

Remarks:

Positive: provides an atmosphere for free thinking to pursue one's dream and subject. One can study in one stream and study other non-related subjects to stream without any hassle. The academic pressure is minimal. Negatives: needs more outreach for a university of this standard.

Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College

According to my West Bengal joint entrance examination rank I said for the counselling in the first round I got Kalyani Government Engineering College with IT department but that was with the reservation under EWS quota with rank 2869. As I was not able to get me EWS certificate my admission there was cancelled and then according to my preference I got Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College with electronic and communication engineering department.
