Course Curriculum Overview

It is one of the reputed branch in jgec, and the scope for getting a higher paying job and a great knowledge for coding, and upcoming technology in ai and lot more forced me to take admission here, teaching method in our college is great

From 7 th semester students get the chance for placement, there are companies like TCS, Amazon, Wipro, Infosys, adani and many more well known company visit our college every year, highest package is around 60lpa and avarage varies between 8 to 10lpa, almost 99% students got placed

As a government college the fees is very affordable to pay and very flexible for any of family like middle class of hig8class, the previous records for placement in our college is great some of our seniors are in some multinational company like Google and Microsoft

Campus Life

Campus Life is very interesting and joyful I haven't expected that much moderaty in life , in terms of sports there are several options for sports like cricket, football, vollyball, as well as indoor sports like chess and Ludo etc

Faculty who is provided in room is very friendly and helpful,I got a very good friend, meal quality is good the take care of hygiene and genuine material and there are balance of no veg as well as veg and combination is always there , if you want to take a ph it is also available and the locality is too good

I gave the wbjee exam , on basis of the rank I got a chance to admit into this college , I have a PWD reservation I got some extra benefits,the admission process is already very great no need to improve for now,

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Placement Experience:

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

Placement Experience:

A Deep Dive into JGEC

Placement Experience:

From 4th year the students become eligible for on campus placements. Few companies that visited are BEL which offered 12lpa , wtw which also offered 12lpa , TCS which offered 9 lpa highest, and many more . Highest package offered this year was 54lpa by Microsoft (off campus) . On campus highest was BEL which offered 12 lpa , the average package is around 8 lpa . My plan is to prepare myself for government exams and get a job by the end of my 4th year .

I applied to a few other government engineering colleges but i ended up choosing JGEC.The main reasons: JGEC is a well established,fully government owned autonomous college,with good accreditation.It also has a long history since 1961,which made me trust its academic environment.Compared to other colleges i applied to ,JGEC felt more stable and credible.It also has a reasonable structure and good campus infrastructure,labs and oppurtunities for intership .There is also a good scope for higher studies like GATE.The marks vs rank went extremely high in WBJEE 2025.That's why i didn't get a college i applied for which is near my home. You can take admission by giving WBJEE and JELET only.As it is a government college you can only take admission if you get a good rank .There is also different cut-offs for diff catagory.The overall admission process is was very smooth and systematic....Read More

According to my West Bengal joint entrance examination rank I said for the counselling in the first round I got Kalyani Government Engineering College with IT department but that was with the reservation under EWS quota with rank 2869. As I was not able to get me EWS certificate my admission there was cancelled and then according to my preference I got Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College with electronic and communication engineering department.
