Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I want to be in the field of marketing and B.com was the most suitable option. There are two teacher per subject in each class. All the teachers are PHD scholars and review the students by conducting class seminars. The term exams were 2 months apart and it was quite difficult to pass.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 320000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There were various companies who came and offered alot of roles to all the students mainly marketing positions and finance related positions were offered. The stipend would vary from 5000-15000 monthly.

Placement Experience

3.5

From 3rd year the students are eligible for campus placements. Companies like Kellogg's, Sunsilk and various other high profile companies come. The highest package last year from on campus was 1900000 per annum. About 50% students get on campus placements. After getting the degree I would like to go abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

B.com department in the morning section is quite cheap as half of the fees is sponsored by the government. The teachers are always up for counselling and you can meet them after classes for assistance.

Campus Life

The annual fest is Xavotsav and it is one of the most prestigious fests of the state. An entire building is dedicated to a library which is world class. All classrooms have thier own computer setup with projectors and speakers. There are various sporting event throughout the year.

Admission

The application can be found online and fee is Rs.500. Students availing for reservation benefits had to submit necessary documents. The admission process is ver simple and easy any one can fill the form online.

Placement Experience:

Idk but i guess students become eligible from 2nd or 3rd sem. Idk what is the company visited but the placements are very good i heard that, avg package varies 2.4 lpa I guess. Right now i am doing internship so as of now i don't have plans.

The best college for professional course students

Placement Experience:

Various companies come to this college for on campus placement Average package= 1000000 Highest package=2200000 Various multi national company and other big and small companies visit this college for on campus placement. Most of the students also get placement opportunities whether large or small package The opportunity is given to all degree whether it be bcom or bcom hons . Any student who does not get placed can easily use the degree to get a high paying off campus placements and to go to any good college or stay in this college for their post graduation.

The course curriculum is backdated and should be improvised as it doesn't give any exposure of present industry knowledge. The frequency of exams is that exams are held after 6 months on semester basis and are easy to pass and majority of the students pass this semester easily.

Decent government college which needs to improve.

The course curriculum is obviously outdated and the knowledge we get through it, is bookish and does not apply to present industry methods. This way we are given no exposure to the real life industry knowledge. The exams are held on semester basis after every 6 months and are easy and manageable.

Quite an Average Government College which lacks in infrastructure, faculty, and placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I mentioned, the course curriculum is outdated and no new industry knowledge is being taught. Projects and assignments are also bookish and are just for sake. Teaching methods by teachers are also bookish and backward. The frequency of exams are after every 6 months and are pretty manageable and easy.

I thought of pursuing engineering and therefore have WBUJEE and JEE both. SXC is invaluable to me!

Admission i tried at almost all the colleges of Kolkata. Goenka was also in my mind as there the classes are in the morning and even St Xavier's Private University as well. SXC is an old pedigree!

There are no entrances like the Delhi University which I gave as well. Here admission are based on 12th percentage and the subjects that we have had. So, for general category in 2025 admission 92.7% from any board was the cut-off. For OBC it was 81 and for SC/ST students it was 73%....Read More
