JMC - The place to be

The course curriculum keeps getting updated within 3-4 years. It is very helpful for the corporate life ahead. The course provides practical knowledge and not just theoretical knowledge. The faculty is very good at their job and have done their degrees from prestigious colleges/ universities and are even award winners. The exams are conducted once every semester. There are 2 semesters in 1 year. The exams are not at all difficult to pass if one has studied and has good knowledge of the curriculum.

Various companies such as Deloitte, KPMG, and ICICI Bank list a few visits to the college every year. 3rd-year students sit for these placements and 90% are selected. The average package is 4-6 lakhs and the highest package is of 10 lakhs. I will also be sitting for college placements in my 3rd year.

The fees are the cheapest of any of the colleges/ universities providing this course. The fees increase by 3-4k for every additional year, ie 2nd year, then 3rd year of the respective student. Scholarships and Financial Assistance are also provided to the students. Details of these are provided on the college website.

Montage is the annual fest of Jesus and Mary College and is usually conducted in the month of February or March. Other than that each department also organizes its own fest, eg: Commerce Department, Political Science Department, and so on. The college library is huge with 3 floors. The books for all the curricula can be found in the library. Journals and daily newspapers are also there. The classrooms are equipped with projectors to make the teaching-learning process more efficient. The college has a big sports ground

The admission process was fairly easy. The request desk was very prompt and sorted out issues quickly. The eligibility was the class 12th Board Result. The application form is twofold. First the basic Delhi university admission form and then there's a second form that has to be filled out on the college website. The application fee is minimal and the form opens along with the DU form. There is a reservation for Christian students who need to give an interview additionally. The only shortcoming is that there is no disclosure of the total number of seats available or the seats which have been filled.
